Next year Jones

Created by: YTSnipeCity
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 7, 2021
Published: Jun. 7, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Only thing this team could add is another top 6 winger, but depth wise we are set. Armia could possibly slot into the top 6 but we'll see what our cap situation is. Defensively however we're solid.

This is just me thinking out loud (I haven't read anything about this yet), but I wonder what impact a rebuild will have on Columbus's ability to sign Zach Werenski. I assume that, if given the choice, the Canadiens would consider him more valuable of a player. Though I will admit that I would hope that, while they are winning right now, another player that can score from the left wing would not hurt them. smile

Idk I feel like if we had him we could really solidify our d core, something like what Tampa has with their 3 left handed guys in Hedman Sergachev and McDonough. Weber Petry and Jones would make us that much better and we’d be giving up assets that realistically don’t have a future with our team anyway. Along with that, Jones is gonna be here to stay, Chiarot and Edmundson are gonna be gone in the next few years. So once they are, we got a pairing like Jones, Romanov that could lead our team for years to come

Very true the only downside is that I can’t see Drouin or Tatar returning, so might as well get something extremely valuable back for them. Guys like Toffoli lead our helm on the left but after that I could see a need for another top 6 winger. Potentially Lehkonen or maybe even Evans could fill that role but they could be less consistent in the regular season. Even someone liek Armia is top 6 material I just think he’s playing too perfectly on that fourth line
