Explanation:
BUF- Eichel obviously wants out and losing him to Seattle or a bottom feeder for picks and prospects is a complete waste. Getting back an incredibly underrated D man in Ellis and a useful forward in Johansen is a good return for what is already a bad situation, throw in McCabe because of cap and because he’s a UFA with likely no chance he resigns anyway
NAS- You need a #1 C who actually plays like it, Ellis and Josi are great together and losing Ellis on the back end hurts, however you can compensate with D easier that the forwards where you also move on from the cap hit on Johansen who needs a change of scenery. Plus it’s Jack freaking Eichel, when was the last time you had a centre of his caliber on this team in their prime.
NHL- I know some of the sexier picks for an Eichel deal are the Rangers or the Kings or some of the bigger markets but I feel this kind of deal makes way more sense and for Buffalo especially they cannot have it seem like they’re selling Eichel for scrap parts and picks, having a somewhat 1-1 deal could help their fans from abandoning hope.

Explanation: Eichel is still going to demand a real price. Ellis is not that price. On top you'd try to make them take another inflated dead contract back? Are you joking?
No Johansen, add Forsberg in there, then add a first, then Remove McCabe.

Do you actually watch Nashville games? Ellis would be a superstar if he played anywhere but Nashville because hes stuck behind Josi, also Johansen is not a dead contract hes just over payed for what Nashville wants him to be and McCabe is in there to make the cap work and because hes a UFA. Also you gotta understand Eichel is going to be sold on low value, he wants out, hes injured, he hasn't had a good season this year or last year, and weather or not its his fault he has never played a playoff game. This trade isn't designed to be fair, but this is realistically all Buffalo can expect for Eichel. Or something Similar. Also youd never get Forsberg outta Nashville unless your gonna go straight up 1-1

Ellis is definitely underrated, but he's also injury prone (58 games over the last 3 years). This isn't gonna get it done for Eichel. With Ellis the first will be a must, and there's no way Johansen's crap contract is gonna be taken on by BUF. IF you can't part with Forsberg would need to be Arvidsson along with either Tolvanen or Tomissino

I honestly think Buffalo fans are gonna be very disappointed by the Eichel trade, im not saying this is a fair price, i think its pretty good value but for sure under better circumstances and with a better GM Buffalo would get way better for Eichel but i dont see it happening
