Schmaltz

Description
I'm not for moving Kuz but if they have to then Schmaltz could work out. He'd fit well in Lavi's system.

I know the biggest argument against this will be Kuz 15 no team trade list but I could also see him being interested because ARI isn't a big market. He could like the quiet, but still doubt it.

As for Schultz, I see ARI has only 1 RHD signed for next season (Lyubushkin), so Schultz makes sense.

I wouldn't hate Schmaltz as the return for Kuznetsov. Pretty close in value. Biggest wild card (outside of what you mentioned about Kuzya's 15 team NTL) is Schmaltz's performance in the playoffs. Only 4 career games (2016-17 in Chicago), 2 SOG, 6 shot attempts and he got 15:22 in ATOI. Could have been that it was his rookie season, but I guess you never know.

Young guys not performing in the playoffs never concerns me. I always look at Oshie who STL fans blasted for not performing in the playoffs then went off for us.

I think Arizona wouldn’t want to give up two mid round picks just given their situation having to forfeit their first pick this year. I’d be okay with just the 2022 second in this trade.
