AS a Tampa Bay fan, Toronto would love Coleman and Goodrow if Dubas can pull that off. They are so great on forechecking and are real beast in PK. Otherwise, I think it would cost more to land Patrick from Philly

Yeah, I agree just what they need, however they may find themselves to be very rich men once UFA season opens... Toronto may not be the highest bidder....

For sure on Patrick, I wasn't exactly sure what to offer other than RFA for RFA +... Might be worth a shot for the leafs to take on him...

Philly declines. We have no use for Dermott.

Philly says no, LD is their deepest position BY FAR and Dermott's value is not high right now

Detroit has 4th line forwards in spades.

Not worth it for Patrick. His offersheet would be around a 3rd round pick alone and with his lack of production, poor underlying numbers, and massive injury history/concern.. he's not worth much more than that 3rd round pick, maybe a later 2nd. I wouldn't be moving a quality 3rd pair defenceman with a little bit of upside in addition to a 3rd for him - Leafs pass.

I'm more than willing to bet that Kerfoot is traded before the expansion draft and Dermott is likely taken by Seattle instead.

For a only.a 6th round pick, I think it's smarter to keep Engvall. If you bury him in the minors it's only $125K against the cap and he could be useful if there's injuries that come up. So unless a team overpays (doubt they do), just keep him for more depth.

Coleman is a good add, especially if Hyman leaves. But I don't think he signs below $4M if he gets 5+ years. I think a more realistic offer is around $3.4M x 4 years but if it goes over 5 years I could see him being over $5M per season.

Erik Haula doesn't fit what Keefe wants as a 3C. He wants a defensive minded guy and that's not Haula. & Craig Anderson is a horrible idea for a backup goalie when Campbell is still unproven ovef a full season and has injury concerns around him. I wouldn't trust Anderson with 2 straight starts let alone 10+ if Campbell gets hurt again.

Lmao. For that kinda of overpayment from Toronto, you take the deal and flip Dermott for more. Patrick isn't worth anything significant and Philly would actually be dumb to turn that offer down.

Overpayment? There are better offers than that. Flipping a player always results in you losing, Dermott is worth like a 3rd when Patrick can still get you a 2nd.

Great insight! I really liked Riley Nash, just didn't get to see enough of him. Thoughts on him over Haula on the third line? Similar cap hit I bet...

Patrick is not worth a 2nd. Poor production, poor underlying numbers, a shaky injury history, and really not looking like he'll be anything more than a bottom 6 player... that doesn't add up to a 2nd round pick. Nic Robertson was a 2nd round pick and he has more value than Patrick.

Patrick is worth a 3rd at best (see Nail Yakupov trade for comparison). You literally got that here and you get a roster player. Dermott by himself is worth more than Patrick. You can sit there and argue Dermott isn't good all you want, but he still has better numbers than Patrick and not nearly as concerning of an injury history.

Patrick isn't worth much and this is actually a pretty big overpayment by Toronto.

Doesn't seem like Nash will be back. Keefe liked him before but he didn't seem to mesh well with the system that Keefe plays. Likely not returning and if he does it's for significantly cheaper than $2M. Nash will want more and likely walks for nothing.

You clearly just hate Philly lol. If you say Dermott is more valuable than Patrick then whatever you're smoking must get you really high. Comparing Patricks value to Robertson's draft round is the most stupid thing i can think of. That's like comparing a AHL nobody worth a 7th to Zetterberg that's idiotic.

You are incredibly bias there kid. I literally gave you a great trade comparable and you ignore it.

What makes Patrick worth a 2nd when Nail Yakupov produced more and got moved for a 3rd and a nothing prospect?

Patrick hasn't produced. Has injury concerns. He has bad underlying numbers. He's been a bottom 6 player on what should be a top team. How does that sound like a player who has any value right now? If you weren't a bias Flyers fan you wouldn't even be bothering to say he's worth anything.

Lmao.

Yakupov was older than him at that point and had proven to be a bust. Patrick has had one bad season and is still 22 so he has potential to be a top 6 on a team that has a different system and has more room for Patrick to grow. Also Patrick doesn't have those migraine issues anymore because if he would have them he wouldn't be playing so he's not injury prone. You just don't know as much as i do about Patrick lol.
