this is a bad take. the ship has sailed on the "if an outrageous offer does not present itself, Buffalo will keep him" narrative. things are so bad between Buffalo and Eichel, that relationship is over.
in regards to interest in Eichel, it will be a bidding war from the bottom up not the top down.
sure, "half the league" is going to call on Eichel, but the number of teams that will submit quality offers is probably 5 teams or less.
if you are expecting this type of return for an injured, disgruntled, and all but demanded out Eichel - it will be a long summer for you.
regardless of the outcome, it can be guaranteed that Eichel will not be in Buffalo come next season and either will Byfield or Laf...

GOODBYE JACK!

Yes, the KHL will love having an actual North American talent

Teams would rather spend 10m in free agency and keep their picks and prospects than make a deal for Eichel. Gotta think there isn't to going to be a frenzy to acquire Eichel, especially for what Sabres fans hope for.

This is a really bad take, Players like Eichel are only available with a top 2 pick 98% of the time, teams are interested in trading for him

How is his injury not a factor? Nobody is going to unload years worth of assets for a guy that can very well spend next year on ltir…

Because its not nearly as bad as you are making it out to be, like not even in the same ballpark

Who in free agency is going to be as good as Jack Eichel under contract for 5 years?

Well probably no one this year. But you certainly can't use that as an argument. Teams might feel it is way more advantageous to sign two 5m UFAs and keep their young assets. If success of teams was based on the amount of money teams spend on their stars players....the Oilers, Leafs, Kings, Hawks, Sabres and Rangers would have been winning Cups in the past five years

No, my opinion (factual in my eyes) makes a lot more sense than Sabres fans ignoring other teams cap and structure of teams roster. Yes, I agree teams will be interested in trading for Eichel, but the price will be much lower than what 90% of the Sabres fans expect.
We'll see what happens. IMO the that 10m can be spend very well on UFAs, and still have the flow young assets upcoming in future years.

Gee look at this roster. Over the cap, and well over the cap when bonuses are considered.

A. you said theyd be better off spending 10 mill in free agency, insinuating theyre are adding 10 mill in cap regardless.
B. Eichel isnt going to the Rangers and the most realistic trades are to teams like LA, who can easily fit him and have assets Buffalo wants and there are plenty of teams that can add a little bit of salary on their return and be completely fine. The Rangers have a cap problem, but the Rangers were never realistically a trade partner, Ranger fans just feel entitled to him because of last summer

No one they MIGHT get in free agency is anywhere near Eichel’s level
Your assumption doesn’t hold up to reality

Sorry the assumption doesn't hold up at all. Teams that pay the most for top stars, haven't won the Cup....in the past five years maybe more. There is more being a true contender than having one or two of the most highly paid, and maybe even the best players on a teams roster. No team is going to wreck their cap, restructure their roster drastically and deplete their flow of young prospects for Eichel.

You mentioned the Kings....one of few teams that have the cap for Eichel. If traded, the Kings would have a roster of 19 and 10m to complete their roster. But the argument I present, is that Kings don't want to give up assets, just because the Sabres want them. Again the Kings could spend 10m in free agency...,.,and still keep their youngsters. Could be short term UFAs, and then their current prospects (which Sabres fans desperately think they are entitled to) replace these short term UFAs. Or maybe the Kings sign big name UFA like Hamilton, have cap room, and their prospects.
The actual "trade market" for 10m Eichel isn't that large.

Assets Buffalo wants or assets you want? Wasn’t aware you were in the know and have an idea of what Buffalo wants. Let me know how family dinner goes on Sunday.

As I am a fan of the team, assets i want are the team needs, which should be what Buffalo wants or Adams should be fired. Crap 3rd liners and D prospects arent it

I wouldn't consider that disappointing as acquiring him could cause major cap problems in the Future

That's ur call and that's perfectly fair, I just don't feel NYR fans should act like he'll be traded to NYR for a 2021 1st and Zachary Jones lmao

Thank you!!!! I’ve been saying this for months. I’m not even sure mcdavid could fetch half the returns sabers fans seem to think. Sooo many times see “any eichel trade starts with…” like the sabers are in position of having any leverage he’s a good not great top line centre that is seriously broken and disgruntled if the injury doesn’t scare away most of the league his attitude will. This is one case I gotta say accepting pennies on the dollar is the best case scenario it’s a distraction and negative look on the franchise longer this drags out.

"He's a good not great top line center" he was top 5 in hart voting just last year, averaged ppg with a broken rib this year. The team sucking is the only reason his "attitude" is bad, ROR was the same reasoning and suddenly that disappears when you start winning.
