You could've stopped at Kakko, and it would've been a decline.

Ridiculous concept. Buffalo would just make that deal with the Rangers if it was on the table. Which it most definitely is not. An overpaid winger doesn't get Eichel.

    Also, the lottery happened already.

So you wouldn't trade Kaako for Eichel? That seems stupid

I wouldn't. Age, Contract, injury issues, chemistry issues, and the fact that adding Eichel forces the team to make drastic changes cap-wise all combine to make me say no there.

The only valid arguments are contest and cap changes. All the other reasons are bad.

Eichel is 20x better than Kaako and I would even rather have an injured Eichel over Kaako
Eichel is still very young and fits the timeline of the Rangers. Age doesn't matter whatsoever
Chemistry issues are so dumb. What if Eichel fits perfectly on the Rangers? You can't bring up chemistry issues when Eichel hasn't even played for the Rangers

Eichel will be 25 as next season is starting, has a significant neck injury (that he wants a surgery which has never been performed on an NHLer), and is forcing his way out of Buffalo. There is no way I give a player like Kakko up for Eichel without Kreider going as well. It just makes no sense for the Rangers long-term, because it severely impairs their ability to sign their future Top 6ers for a player who might never be the same.

It makes sense but Kreider has a NMC. There's no chance he waives

Well. I'm pretty sure the Jackets would go for that, but the rest of your plans seem to be DOA.
