Care to explain. Vancouver gets back a pretty good package after not being able to afford to resign Petterson

It's pathetic

And we can sign him

But worse, it's pathetic

You want Petey, the pile starts with Fox. Not even joking. The top end of the list of players that you can get with "a lot of reasonable but nothing flashy" package ends much farther down the line of top players in the NHL than Pettersson. Like 20 players lower.

you got to be kidding, Strome is at his prime and around the peak of his career, Chytil is a young center and Schneider is a young promising defenceman, don't forget about the 15th overall pick and a second in 2022 so if you think this isn't a good trade there's obviously something wrong with the trade or people just think his value is higher than it is.

No, you're just wrong and Strome isn't in the peak of his career, he's just not a bust for the first time and people are oozing over it. He's not good in most systems and would struggle in about 25-28 lineups.

Pettersson doesn't get traded for inflated stock, a mid pick in a bad draft and "promising"

You want Now, then we want Now and if you don't like it, shop somewhere else for your top 20 NHLer. I'm sure there are tons available for your "stuff"

Not saying strome is unbelievable but look at his numbers the past 2 years, Vancouver gets the Rangers 14 pick and a defencemen + forward prospect that could make the lineup right now. It’s honestly not as bad as you think. I highly disagree on Petterson being a top 20 NHL player as well

I doubt there is middle ground here and I'm not just speaking for me but anyone who would be on the Pettersson side of this. He's a franchise player and we can afford him and Quinn. Just nobody else for a year. So we will suck for 1 more year before moving forward.

He's been the best he's ever been, if you think Pettersson is a top 20 player then u must be biased or something but he isn't, also Strome hasn't been like this for a while and now he's in his prime and he has a few years left in it. This is definitely a fair trade and will get both of these players a better team to play on.

Vancouver has plenty of cap-space to re-sign Petterson and Hughes. Their biggest cap crunch is this off-season and even then they have maneuverability if they need it.

By 2022-23 all of their bad contracts are gone and so is their Luongo recapture penalty. They will be swimming in cap space with their core all re-signed.

This is not a good trade. As a huge Pettersson fan I'd hate to see him leave for two basic 3rd line guys and some change.
