Description
What would you think of bringing BSD back? He was a fan favorite. This post is made thinking of this.
My thoughts on this
The Tkachuk Rittch hugging ritual would be back and I loved that
BSD would be a reliable backup since he is one of the only(if not the only) goalie on the market that has played more than 1 game under Sutter.
This could be useful for us because his value may have dropped a bit with his few bad games in Toronto.
We developed him and I am sure he would come back for the right price

I love BSD, and Markstrom is such a workhorse that there’s next to no pressure on the backup anyway. I think he’d be more than capable in 25-30 games a year, especially in the Sutter system. The only argument against it really is that we might be fine with just Domingue as the backup, and he’d be cheaper. But I think we can afford 2mil for the backup.

What would a Pens-Flames Guentzel-Tkachuk trade need to look like

We don't need another left handed winger. We are looking for a right handed

I can't imagine it'd be anything you'd like; the only guy "available" I'd consider moving Tkachuk for is Eichel. Then when it comes to Jake there is the Crosby factor. There hasn't been a ton of success for Crosby's wingers after leaving Pittsburgh, now I know Guentzel is better than all those guys, but how much does Sid impact the numbers? Gaudreau is a great playmaker, but he's no Sid.

Rust could be moved but that wouldnt be as much value as Guentzel so i doubt anything could happen

This is an extremely short-sighted view, great players are great players and you try and get them when available. I wouldn't do a Tkachuk=Guentzel trade but writing someone off because they shot left is an awful idea.

Guentzel is probably the only winger Crosby had ever had who i think would have success elsewhere. Maybe not as much but he would still be a top end player wherever be plays.

I dont think i see a clear trade between them though unfortunately

That and Rittich really isn't that good, there are better options available.

Oh, like I said, I am sure he will be different than the others, but that Crosby factor is just a big question mark, I'd have no idea where to value him. It's kind of like valuing Tarasenko, dude is a goal scoring machine, but those injuries the last couple years, is the risk worth it? What's fair value? Y'know?

Yeah its tough. To be honest I would never trade a Tkachuk if I had them but the idea has been thrown around so i wanted to see if anything is possible. For the Pens that would obviously stAtt with Guentzel and end I have no idea where. 99% chance Tkachuk isnt going anywhere though.

I’m serious when I say there are very very few players in the entire league i would trade those two for.
