Have you looked at the buyout of Parise contract? I
21-22: 2.3 mil
22-23: 6.3 mil
23-24: 7.3 mil
24-25: 7.3 mil
Then 25-29 = 833,333

That's going to cost a lot more then a 1st and a 3rd to move. The cost would be so bad and painful that you would agree that its just better to keep him.

It could for sure, but I think for a team like Detroit it may be enough especially with it costing essentially nothing but a swap of 4ths

The Red Wings charged the Rangers a 2nd for a Staal a player they could use and cost a total of 5.7 against the cap this is almost 5 times that (buyout cap hit total is 26.8) amount and 8 times the term. They are going to ask a price that the Wild will not pay.

Eichel deal gets pretty easily outbid. You're light at least 1 piece. And that piece is not a future 2nd or 3rd. Think NHL player or top 5 organizational prospect. You can probably work Rask into the Eichel deal as well since the Sabres will have the space.

Detroit will have more than a half dozen offers of cap dump deals to chose from theese next few weeks.

With the 50-contract rule and everything else that factors in meaning that they can't agree to them all they will chose the ones that brings the best returns for the team. Both the quality of the player and how much help Detroit needs at his position will matter a lot as well as what the cost is both in actual dollars and cap and what return Detroit gets will be used to determine how good the proposed deal is for Detroit.

This will be an auction to see which teams will offer the best deal for Detroit and this deal will not be one of the winners.

If the offer had been 5-6 first round picks then maybe you'd be in with a chance...

First, welcome to Cap Friendly. The Parise contract is untradeable but with that being said we'll do it for both your 1sts this year, your 2022 1st (unprotected) and Marco Rossi. And I'm being generous...

What you are forgetting with this, it's entirely still up to Parise, or any other players to say yes.

The wild shouldn't risk losing two top 4 d with Soucy, & Dumba

I think you missed the point entirely.

Yes Minnesota would not trade that to get rid of Parise, but the Wings or any other team with cap space is not doing it for a 1st and a 3rd. You are asking a team to absorb over 30 million in cap if they do. To buy him out is going to cost 6.66 million but the cap hit over the 8 years is 26 million in total.

If you look at comparables, it took a 1st to get a team to take and buyout Marleau for 1 year and 6 million or a 1st and retention and other pieces for Backes and his 2 year 6 million dollar cap hit. This trade is 4 times that of Marleau and almost 3 times as long as Backes' deal.

What he is trying to say is he can not be traded unless Minny pays and pays what they would think is way too much. He is not saying Minny would do it, just what it would take. Thus his all cap UNTRADEABLE, comment.

That you are this offended calling a stranger you don't know names is very telling

Not going to argue your ignorant statement exaggerating that it would cost Ross, & more

I didn't call you any names and your response is bizarre. Toronto paid a 1st for 6.25. What's your argument? If this site upsets you so much that you can't make a lucid argument then maybe it's not the place for you.

While the drug comment is wrong, your also guilty of calling his comment ignorant is wrong. As I said, it is 26 million dollar cap hit over 8 years, and no team is doing that for a single 1st and a 3rd, it will cost and probably not what Minnesota is willing to pay.

I put it in caps the second time because the poster obviously didn't read the first time I said it.

That comment is no more "wrong" then calling someone crazy or insane which is the bread and butter of this site. If they are going to say something outlandish then they better be willing to support it with an actual argument or they're just wasting everyone's time.
