That's certainly an original thought especially the Hawk trade. Thanks for creating a 23 man roster with cap space remaining.

I really enjoyed this ACGM! The only thing I would be skeptical on Is the Canucks trade considering the Koskinen contract is worse because it last longer than the one year remaining on Holtby's. But the Chicago trade was great not only because the return for Chicago makes a lot of sense but also because Dylan Strome and Connor McDavid had a lot of chemistry in the OHL that lead to Strome being taken so high.

Your future is Connor McDavid and Leon Draisatl. You need to surround them with talent NOW. Plus, the oilers have no need for three top defense prospects anyway.

Debrincat was also on that line and they haven’t rekindled their former flame. McDavid is obviously infinitely better than anyone in the league and can make Strome look better but I wouldn’t bet on Strome showing up and becoming a solid player.

Whenever I see a trade involving 10+ pieces I just stop. It’s too chaotic and unrealistic. Also Chicago declines. Also Edmonton doesn’t mortgage their future like that.

Makes them a top 10 but not cup winner. That’s a lot of work to get this far, yikes

How does that make sense for Chicago? Debrincat is an elite young winger and exactly what Chicago needs to lead the rebuilt in progress.

If for some reason Toews was to not play this coming season....I would be very tempted. Tear it down to the ground and get out of the cycle of mediocrity of picking in the teens as a fringe playoff team. Throw all the kids into the deep end and see who sinks or swims while likely getting yourself into the top 5 in a deep draft with Edmonton's 1st in your back pocket. I would imagine Murphy would land you a third 1st at the trade deadline (while also solidifying the suck and insuring the Hawks own pick ends up high). It is pretty hard to say no to 5 first round picks even with Neal's **** deal attached to them for Debrincat being the only long term piece in the entire mix.

Hawks decline. Debrincat is a core piece if the hawks ever want to get out of their rebuild.

Ya that's what New Jersey and Ottawa basically did and it's looking great for both of them
