Reinhart as a target makes a lot of sense for the Avs. A net front presence guy does makea lot of sense but its so hard to guage his value. That seems like a lot. Both Bura and him are 1 year away from UFA

Reinhart
2019-20 69gms 22g 50pts 0.72ppg
2020-21 54gms 25g 40 pts 0.74ppg

Bura
2019-20 58gms 20g 45pts 0.82ppg
2020-21 53gms 19g 44pts 0.83ppg

their production is very close...yes bura is on the better team but doing it from a 2nd line role vs Reinhart is a more elevated role on a worse team.

What do the avs really gain out of using a 1st and Graves to swap Reinhart to Bura. Seems like overkill when you look at the offensive numbers

He's had a super similar path as Mangiapane, I think he could end up solid.

The dream offseason doesn't involve keeping Grubauer?

how does Reinhart return so much but Buch so little?
also, the last position the Rangers need to address is RD.

I think Reinhart is quite a bit more well rounded than Burakovsky, and with Bura only having 1 more year left they kind of have to make a decision on him, and I would feel a lot more comfortable signing Reinhart long term than Burakovsky. I also like that Reinhart can play Centre until Newhook is ready. It might be an overpay, just showing what I'd part at most with.

I don't feel comfortable with the contract he's probably going to want/ get.

I agree that Reinhart is worth investing into more long term and I like him as an add. His time in Bufffalo is probably over, he seemed defeated and dejected the previous offseason, probably even more so now. I think he signs a 1 year deal which takes him right to UFA if hes not traded.

I do wonder about tryign to work out a deal to swap Bura for Reinhart if Buffalo plans on trying to keep Eichel and make him happy. Giving him a trigger man winger

Not enough for Buch. But hold onto Barron, and will give you Kreider for Kadri, 1 for 1. Around the same Cap hit.

Maybe if Kreider wasn't signed until he's 36

So little? I think they are both over pays. In Buch, the Avs get a 2nd line wing, and they give up a 2C and a top pairing prospect. If I’m the Avs I’m passing on this everyday of the week.

On what planet do they have around the same cap hit? Kreider is SIX more years at $6.5M or $39M total. Kadri is owed $4.5M next year. For next year alone Kreider’s cap hit is 44% more and he is signed SIX more years.
That’s not around, that’s a whole other area code.

I was referring to what he was signing Buchnevich for. That Cap hit compared to Kreider. Not Kadri.

I think they are both over pays (Reinhart and Buch). I get doing one but not both. I don’t think they present enough of an increase in production and as importantly defensively to give up Barron, Graves and 1st to swap them.

Yeah except Kreider is 4 yrs older and we both know that contract is not going to age well, and age even worse if guys like Lafrienere and Kakko hit their potential. Like Kreider as a player, absolutely loathe his contract.
