Description

I think the Eberle trade works for both teams? Gallagher back to his birthplace, hanging with hometown buddy Lucic. He's 2 years younger and locked up on a very decent contract. Maybe not as offensively gifted but he is 100% effort, something they lack a lot of nights... something the Habs have a lot of.

TBL probably doesn't make this trade if they guy anything close to this value from another team. IMO, Scherbak has not looked great this year, plus DD adds a little more cap. TBL has to trade someone, Palat/Johnson/Drouin/Boyle will all want a raise. Unfortunatley, this means not resigning Markov next year.

I like where your head is at. Would be tough getting rid of Gally, but I can see the upside.

I'd rather look for some defensive depth, aka Legit top 4 LD in a trade. Couldn't tell you who though......HAVING SAID THAT, if we can't sign Radulov, then help up front becomes priority.

Yeah I agree about trading for a top 4 LD. I looked decently hard into who might be available from probable "seller" teams, there wasn't much there. The price tag on most defensemen is too large for what MTL has to offer. The best I could find was either Hamhuis or Oduya from Dallas. Both are mid-30s, make $3.75M/yr, don't offer much offensively (which is okay I guess). Beaulieu is a liability in my opinon, I wish there was a good trade option for him.
