Yeah this might be a mess, idk.

Not saying this should happen, but if I'm Dahlin after that year I might want out too. (he's still worth that much btw)

Bishop comes cheap due to Seattle likely to take a goalie and since they're only one year apart, if I'm Dallas, Khudobin is proven with them.

I like adding proven vets and good youth at the same time so you can kinda mask the rebuild. I didn't buyout Okposo because they don't need the cap.

I almost like this team now. Even if people think Greenway is too much (or the first) you can still have a real team here.

the difference between Dahlin and Dumba is certainly more than a 2nd line winger and a first

I'm not sure that's enough for Eichel and you're adding second round pick?

I think ur underselling on both Dahlin and Eichel. Dumbs only has two years of control and then he can walk. The Pittsburgh 1st is a bottom half of first round pick...which doesn’t always turn into much.

Eichel needs to bring much more than that. Strome has one year left. Kakko has not shown enough to be the centrepiece of this return. Chytil...solid but again, we’re giving away an elite player. Georgiev is a below average goalie imo. .905 save % last year. He just doesn’t impress me. And then adding a 2nd, which is essentially a late round 1st (ARZ doesn’t get to use their pick in round one). I don’t mind the Oilers trade in terms of value. But if we’re drafting Power, I don’t see the need for Broberg.

I could see the Eichel trade working, but edmonton would need to throw in a 1st for Reinhart. Dahlin would definitely need more of a return than that. Probably a top prospect, top 6 player and a 1st. Or a Number 1 center.

Give me an injury prone Bishop over Khudobin. With Bishop & his injury history, it almost guarantees that Oettinger sees at least 50% of the starts simply because the Stars are going to manage his workload. And when healthy, Bishop is consistently playing at a level that Khudobin only reached during the Vegas series last postseason.

Not so sure Seattle takes a goalie. Khudobin was pretty subpar this year & Bishop has a NMC. If I'm Dallas, I would much rather have Bishop on my roster for 2 reasons:

1) Stars are going to heavily manage his workload, which means more starts for Oettinger
2) When healthy, Bishop has put up consistently solid numbers, which Khudobin can't seem to do as a starting goalie

Yeah, and we want Oettinger to play a lot of those games, but if we struggle to find a way to move Khudobin I can see why Dallas could consider this. If we can move Khudobin easily for a low pick I'd rather do that.

Best case scenario we expose Faksa and he gets picked because:

1. We already have Hintz, Seguin, and Benn at centre, with potentially and hopefully Bourque coming on the up and up in the next few years, Faksa at about 3.5 is too much for a 4th line centre
2. Clears up cap space, and makes this offseason more flexible.

Interchange the goalies if you like, I don't think that's a linchpin here. I personally think the Eichel deal is right and obviously I think the other two are closer but lets say some more gets added in each trade, it's mostly picks and doesn't affect the roster anyway.

Team actually looks pretty good after this. Not contender good, but like, this can work.
