Hard pass on Eichel. Also, signing Frederick Andersson is just gross.

I've always been confused on the hard pass for Eichel talk... He's an absoulte talent who wants to leave a **** hole to play meaningful hockey. I understand Detroit wants one more year of rebuild but I think with Raymond and Seider coming up this season, with Bert, Larkin and Vrana coming up this would be a great time to pull the trigger on a lower value Eichel

Buffalo would be delighted with that trade, but the Red Wings shouldn't do that deal. Sabres get all of those young assets and a load of free cap space immediately. No team is going to offer nearly that much for Eichel and neither should the Wings.

I think Buffalo wants a top-6 centre back in trade. And none of those guys appear close to the level of prospects Sabres are getting in other deals. The most attractive piece is the pick in a weak draft.

I think Seider, Raymond ...one of those guys would have to be in there, if not both

I just don't think the right way to build a team is with $10m+ players. There is no doubt he's a great player, but I just don't want him in Detroit.

Completely fair, what about the idea of Buffalo holding some cap, like Toronto did with Kessel? 1-1.5 Million off

I doubt Sabres retain. Kimmy needs money to pay for her next facelift.

There's no way Raymond will make the team for next season.

1. He prefers to play the left wing and is much better there than on the right side. Detroit is full on LW.
2. He averaged 12 minutes a game on the 3rd line in SHL this season.
3. Berggren is 20 months older than Raymond and is way ahead of him in development.

Raymond will get a 9 game taster so as to slide his contract, that's all.

There is nothing wrong with having a big contract player. But in this trade, the Wings have given a bunch of good young low cost assets to the Sabres, and really little cap. The Wings would be much better off signing 10m in UFAs and keeping their young assets. Sabres "competition" in any deal for 10m Eichel, is that teams think they can spend 10m as well or also as well on other players without having give up young assets.

I was thinking just the opposite the closest thing Yzermann done as a GM to me is McDonagh/Miller trade when does he sell the future for one guy? Hajek,Howden and a 1&2:for 2 proven NHL'ers

Canes say yes. We are paying to get rid of Gardiner and no one knows the cost, so this works

With the amount of holes in their roster it doesn't make sense for Detroit. This trade would make Detroit worse before making them better and it would add a couple of seasons to the rebuild.

And that is why Eichel to Detroit won't happen.

The most accurate cost that I've seen both fan-bases agree to, is:
To DET: Gardiner, 2021 2nd round pick and Dominik Bokk
To Carolina: 2021 7th round pick OR Future Considerations
