Reilly cannot stay Poll at bottom

Description
Kerfoot's contract is really appealing to a team wanting to save real $$$ and get to the cap floor. I think for that reason he is traded before the expansion draft. Toronto also needs cap space and I believe they can find a suitable replacement for a bit cheaper. If not then keep him, but it'll be more of a salary cap dance again like this last season.

Reilly should be the odd man out on defence. Holl is the most expendable but he is on a reasonable $2M deal and provides great value at that number. Reilly will continue to become more expendable as Sandin improves and from the looks of him on the PP, Reilly will lose value based on his point production. Still a fabulous player but one they cannot afford due to the flat cap world.

Marner had a bad playoff but it isn't yet the time to move him. Value returning won't be acceptable currently until teams know when the cap ceiling is rising. The big 4 contracts are and should be here to stay for next season.

I doubt Seattle will trade anything for a rental player considering they are a brand new franchise and will try to build a young team. If Riley agreed to an extension maybe Seattle would trade for him

Seattle would reject that, the odds of that first round pick being a lottery pick are very high

Goodrow, Hyman, and Galchenyuk are all massively underpaid

Interesting how Reilly's value will go down with the emergence of Sandin and will no longer be affordable because of the huge raise he would be getting even though it's a flat cap which will put Rielly somewhere in the 6.5-7.5 per year range and the Leafs gain 1.2 million with Kessel retention off the books. I'd say there is high probability Rielly can be kept in the organization with a 6.5 x 5-7 year extension which literally has 0 impact on their current cap structure

Goodrow yes, Hyman nope not underpaid now I'm sure there is a fool hearted GM out there willing to throw 6x6 at forechecking winger which would make Hyman dangerously overpaid as for Galchenyuk same story some fool out there could offer something like 3+ at him but that again is foolish for the simple fact Galchenyuk was basically run out of the league until the Leafs sheltered him in a top 6

If you read the trade description you would see that I said a trade for Reilly would look very different. Hard to determine though since obviously Seattle has 1 player right now.

Reilly is from British Columbia not too far away from Seattle, seams like the perfect coming home team to me. They can sign him to a nice deal and he gets to live in the states, close to home yet pay less in taxes.

Galchenyuk is a placeholder until Robertson takes his place. He should take a pay cut just to stay in the NHL. No other teams want him right now.

Goodrow is good but what is his value? What would you give him?

Hyman's value depends on the team, but yes he could get more elsewhere. I'd take him for anything at or under $5M otherwise I let him walk.

All because Riley Lives near Seattle don't mean Seattle wants to trade for him. If Morgan Riley is going to cost Seattle any prospects or any picks from the First 2 rounds Seattle won't do that trade. They are a brand new team and will probably keep their assets instead of trading them for Riley. But if Riley signs an extension and won't cost Seattle much then I can see them making a move for him

He is NOT a rental. That would be a trade IF he agrees to go sign an extension. He is young and can help lead that team. He will be in his prime for at least 4-5 more years easy.
