LA says no. They're swimming in centers and are going to have to move some of them to wing. Why do they want another center at the cost of one of their best wingers?

So you're saying Kotkaniemi is still more valuable than Kempe, Drouin is still more valuable than Athanasiou, and LA needs a win-now #1C as much as MTL does? Interesting flex. What a true canuck you are. You really know your ice hockey. Is that the one with the big sled that the four guys push?

How exactly does one become goated? Is there a ceremony to attend? Are there membership dues? Is there hazing involved?

Kotkaniemi more valuable than Kempe? Absolutely.
Drouin more valuable than Athanasiou? Yes.

But I never said LA needed a centre. I said it's a more realistic offer.

    Lmfao

Drouin is being paid 5.5m and in his last 71 games has managed to score 38 points. That’s a 43p pace. Yikes.

AA last 94 games 49 points. That’s also a 43p pace in an 82 game season. Wow compelling stuff.

    Kemp vs Kk

    125gp 61p or 40p/82g pace

    92pg 28p or 25p/82g pace

So based off this La is giving Washington better players (today) less cap and a 2nd. Lmfao realistic trade but better than the other trade you were criticizing. This site makes me laugh w people like you

Ironically Kempe is worse but with better point production

Kopitar, Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, and more down on the farm.

With our lack of quality at RW behind our former captain, and our lack of quality depth on both sides of the defense until the kids develop, I think a supposedly first-line center is among the lesser of our priorities.

Lol. No. If you judge a player being better than someone solely by points, well then you might wanna rethink that 😂

Sorry, I actually misread/ miswrote when I wrote this, not sure what went through my brain lol. My mistake.

Kotkaniemi is worth more than Kempe. By far. Drouin and Athanasiou would be about equal.

What I meant by this being a more fair offer is that Kuznetsov is by no means worth Kotkaniemi which was @Eli originally idea. Which is terrible. Kuznetsov is past his prime and declining and Kotkaniemi is a young asset that's only getting better every season.

    Athanasiou, Kempe, 2nd = Kuznetsov
Kotkaniemi, Drouin >>> Kuznetsov, 4th (as @Eli posted earlier)

This was my original idea. Sorry for misspeaking.

Lol. Kotkaniemi for Kuznetsov wasn't my idea. A habs fan posted it about a month ago. And they added a 1st. But when other Habs fans post the ridiculous fantasy that they could get Kuznetsov for Drouin, they want to see their team win so they're not going to argue. You chimed in to agree with a bunch of Habs homers, and you're taking their agreement to mean you got something right, but you clearly have no idea.

Fair enough. Do any of the Caps' bottom four defensemen fit LA's needs? I don't see Orlov or Carlson moving, but a lot of Caps fans are brainstorming trades with Dillon or Schultz involved. A few others don't seem to get how good Jensen and TVR are.

Schultz is usually an offensive specialist but somehow played a really good defensive game this year. The other three tend to focus on defense, but in terms of even strength points, Dillon and Jensen were right up there this year. Laviolette found a way to get them each to round out their game, and while I could see WSH happily keeping them all, if they're looking for a LW, they could make moves. Dillon also finished right up at the top in hits, for whatever that's worth, but I'm sure LA fans remember his toughness from SJ years.
