HUGE SPLASH

Created by: Leisen1104
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 12, 2021
Published: Jun. 12, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Wait to make moves until after expansion to make sure we can protect Holl.

Could opt for a more defensive PK 3C than Getzlaf but I think we opt for more bottom 6 offense. Our PK forward depth is shot a bit which is why Joey Anderson might make it in and maybe JT starts PKing or develop Galch into a PK guy.

Lmao the hawks are one of the richest teams in the league. They don't need to dump guys on LTIR. In no world would they ever consider this. Thanks for the good laugh though

I guess we'll see. Based on CJ and Friedmans rumors it seems pretty likely. We have all the pieces in the world to get this done. Amirov, Robertson, Liljegren, Niemela Sandin, 1st round pick...Hawks are rebuilding and we could have 2 Kanes with our prospect capital.

You're insane if you think this has any slight chance of happening.

This makes zero sense from the Hawks point of view. If you're assuming Toews is done for his career. Hawks put him on LTIR. They can put him there just as easily as TOR...if not easier. So it's Kane half retained for Amirov and Timmy's? This is a joke.

Hawks don’t need to deal their ltir and kane retained at half would bring back a combo of firsts and top prospects.

I love how so many fans on here think so highly of their prospect capital. All due respect, Toronto's pipeline is bottom 3rd in the league; a bi-product of trading away top picks to acquire Folignos or give away Marleaus.

lmao the leaf hate is real. Look the reality is Amirov, Robertson, and Sandin are all A level prospects. Liljegren is a B+ and Dermott is a solid young defenseman as well. Leafs do have valuable prospect capital and it would be in the hawks best interest to move on from Kane as they are not going to be a competitive team any time soon. Maybe other teams will have better offers, like a Byram or Kakko perhaps, but Leafs will be in those talks.

I'm not suggesting TOR won't be in those talks. What I'm saying is Toews/Seabs are irrelevant in this trade. WHATEVER magic you're suggesting TOR has...CHI can do to. So TOR gets zero credit for taking on those two.

So it's Kane with 66 points on a team that struggled to score. Matthews got 66 points last year and TOR had a heck of a lot more pieces for the opposite team to focus on. If you go up against the Hawks, you have one singular focus. Stop Patrick Kane. It will take more than Amirov and Timmy to get Kane WITHOUT any retention. Then you add it $5.25M in cap space for THREE years. $6M for 1 year of Marleau cost a 1st. Start thinking about (3) of these...

OR let's take a counter proposal. Matthews (with zero retention) for Reichel and Beaudin...Does that sound fair to you? OK, now add 50% retention...for multiple years. The reason you're getting this backlash is because it's justified. This is one of the worst trades I've seen on here.

Kane and Toews and Keith will retire hawks, I don't even know if McDavid would get the hawks to trade Kane (hyperbole but not an outrageous point considering McDavid is soft). Also Toronto is a basketball town now btw.

All the pieces in the world for what? You’re not getting Patrick Kane for scraps lol

Leafs are ranked for one of the worst prospect pools in the league. You are completely unrealistic of how you rate your prospect pool.

A level prospects? I wish I had you as a college professor. To me A level prospects are guys that are going to be top liners. There aren’t a ton of those floating around in the league. Usually top 5 picks. Guys like you mentioned Kakko, Bryam, Owen Power. You catch my drift.

Because to pull a SUPERSTAR away from a team that doesn’t really have any need to trade him, then if they did oblige and actually move Kane, not sure Toronto is a team he’s waiving for and then there’s no way Chicago is holding onto any cap. You want Kane, you pay for Kane lol

Look at all the angry Chicago fans lol. Kane is about to be 33 he has 2 years until UFA. Chicago is awful, they would be dumb not to trade him. Sandin, Robertson, and Amirov are all better than any prospect Chicago has.(Obviously Dach and Boqvist dont count they are on the team). Name contending teams that can afford to add a 10 million dollar contract, now ask yourself if that team has the prospect capital to trade for Kane. Are they in win now mode and want to trade for a 33 year old? There aren't many options. Leafs are one of 4ish teams that will be in on it.

I say A prospects knowing guys like Byram are A+ prospects.
