No he isn’t, the narrative has become ridiculous. He averaged 25g per 82 games his first 3 seasons. Even after a horrible year he is still averaging 22g per 82g for his career.

He had a pair of injuries he battled through to start the year. Then had 2 positive Covid tests that derailed him. Dealt with some depression. While this was going on and he was struggling, he was demoted, scratched, bounced all around the lineup, including RW where he generally sucks. A bad season was almost inevitable. I believe it’s just an outlier and will bounce back to a 20+ goal 50 pt 2nd line wing.

However fans are very over reactionary, “what have you done for me lately”, taken by small sample sizes, streaks etc. without understanding underlying reasons for it.

The same fans that are saying he’s garbage and worth a 3rd are the same ones that were saying Marc-Andre Fleury was a cap damp and had to pay to move him because he had a down year. He’s a Vezina finalist….oops. It’s just the mentality.

He could probably use a change of scenery and will likely get one.

But the idiots that think he should be exposed to Seattle, isn’t worth more than a 3rd, isn’t worth some guy that has never exceeded 30 points and likely never will, are going to be in for a rude awakening.
