Why would the Caps do that? Vanecek is a quality backup on a cheap deal that expires as a RFA. Hathaway has a great contract for his production. I have to think that is worth more to the Caps than a 2nd and a 3rd

Call me crazy but I think Jupiter is going to cost you alittle more than 2 bottom 6 forwards. I could be wrong...

Both engvall and Mikheyev are significantly better hockey players than Glendening and Hathaway

lol thank you, although the value isn’t too far off I agree it doesn’t make sense for the caps to do this trade. I’d especially prefer to keep Hathaway unless someone wants to overpay for him, which wouldn’t make sense.

I had another leafs fan on here tell me that Vanecek actually has negative value and was only willing to offer Denis Malgin and that was all we’d get for him. Like, okay, than we’ll hold onto him lmao.

Thank you for recognizing VV’s value.

Yeah, he’s not more than a backup but there is not many quality backups in the league that cost less than a million

He did okay this season in a starter role. I think he’s on track to become a great 1B goalie. Hopefully we hold onto him.

It's covered in storms and the gravity there would crush a beer before you opened it. Sure there's a lot of land, but you can't play hockey on it. Done deal.
