I won't argue with Oiler fans who say that 2022 first should be the second.

Puljujarvi AND Jones for 1 year of Boone Jenner?

Klefbom will start on LTIR, if he ever even come off of it...

DeAngelo has no value, he won't be seen in the league for a few years, if ever...but Kassian would seems be the correct, if not ironic price. He also played with Nurse in the Soo, so would expect Doc to read him the riot act.

I expect Holland's focus will be on big Dmen, like Hamilton.

If Kassian had 1 year left then this would work. We won’t retain on this in order to take on Kassian for 3 years at full cost

Not taking Kassian without salary retention.

Fine with Deangelo with retention, though.

DeAngelo risk is enormous, Kassian is the deterrent NYR need. No more Tom Wilson or Matt Martin running wild is a bigger than the credit is deserved. People who think DeAngelo has no value is absolutely absurd. What DeAngelo doesn't have is trust he wont shoot his mouth off.
I admit DeAngelo is a risk, ether NYR buy him out & Edmonton get him at a reduced cost or NYR try and make a trade to eliminate the contract. Ether way, NYR almost have to pay to get rid of DeAngelo.

Arizona was going to do this deal last summer but the Oilers balked at the 1st
Anaheim - Is 8 more years of Ethan Bear a top 4 D-man - Remember Manson wants out
CBJ - Jenner is a 3rd line player on almost every other NHL team. The cost of a 3rd line player isn't a top 6 forward who is 22 and a future top 4 D-man in Jones. This is more than a fair trade.

What the price to pay to deter Wilson or Martin? it's Zack Kassian or Maroon. Remember Edmonton is taking on a guy with a history of inappropriate behavior to say the least. This is a risky trade for Edmonton.
The thing about players like Kasssian is when you don't have them your always looking for them.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

3.2 million vs 4.8 million who is a massive risk, the numbers have to even out for Edmonton to do this deal. The risk is that high. Kassian numbers are not that high for what he can bring.

Klefbom may start on the LTIR - it's a labrum surgery and not that complicated, problem is it's his 2nd one. He should be ready by start of season.
DeAngleo is a huge risk and trading even Kassian for him is risky, he's a player that teams want not for price or points but for what he can bring. NYR got slapped around and teams take advantage of that.

I should have stipulated trade and sign. My bad.

I'm opposed to whale hunting and overpaying for free agents. I'm even hesitant on the RNH contract and the Hyman contract.

I'm saying that I think that your Rickard Rakell trade is well conceived and that you might not have to pay your 2022 first. I think that the range for RR is Bear plus a second or a first, depending upon how well the respective GMs negotiate. And I have a higher opinion of yours than ours.

Next season isn’t an issue for the Rangers cap. They can eat half of Deangelos contract. That means no cap hit the following year if he’s bought out, instead. It’s only like 800k cap hit (I’m not checking right now) but that’s still a 4th liner/ELC.

Can’t get in a situation where Kassian cap hit could cost them one of their top players/prospects
