LD is still a huge issue. Bean is not a top 4 D man, hell in the playoffs he wasn't a top 6 D man. You're better off keeping Gardiner. You have the cap.

I imagine that's not exactly overwhelming for Armstrong and the blues to part with Tarasenko for.

Marc Staal cost the Rangers a 2nd round pick for Detroit to take the last year of his contract. It'll cost Carolina 2 2nd round picks for Detroit to take the last 2 years of his contract.

It's pretty much the same as staal deal which was 1 2nd for 1 year. This is 2 years so makes sense. It wouldn't hurt Carolina in the least. They have so many awesome prospects and a ton of picks. Just gives them a lot of needed cap space

Bokk and the '21 2nd is the price to take Gardiner off your books and honestly, that's win-win. Detroit buys futures and Carolina gets a lot of money off their books for a late 2nd in a below average draft and a good prospect, but one that does not exactly have a clear path to Carolina with their depth chart.

The problem I have with Tarasenko trades is that I have no clue how he is physically and how he has been in recent skates and whatnot

Nobody has any idea of his status... so as a Blues fan I hope they know better than to sell him for nothing. Imagine if he manages to be a useful top line winger for 2 more years... worth the gamble to keep him unless they can manage a nice pick or a promising prospect in the return. Don't necessarily need the cap room rn, I'm almost less comfortable giving this Blues front office any more money to spend given the way theyve used it lately.
