Considering expansion protection slots...I dont see teams trading very much than a draft pick for him. Unless they are hoping to dump a bit of cap to make a contract work for him.

I was gonna say this as well but then I remembered it wasn't technically a sign and trade. WPG traded him to PHI with no guarantee he would sign in PHI. They obviously offered him a great deal so he signed. So not really a sign and trade.

There is really no advantage teams in these sign and trades, except Carolina is the only team that can sign him for 8 years,,,,and then trade him to the agreed team.
