I think other teams would be willing to sign Hamilton 8x8 and be willing to move more than a 2nd. I'm also not sure Hamilton would prioritize the Canucks. He seemed to be uncomfortable in the Calgary and Boston spotlight so I would assume a small market team.

Not sure about the Myers trade. Zaitsev had a great year and if theyre equal in value I'm not sure if a 3rd is enough to change things up and take on the extra cap hit. Maybe I'm misjudging Myers tho? If he's an upgrade on Zaitsev then maybe it works but I dont see him as much better than Zaitsev

fair enough, but here's my read: myers is better offensively, zaitsev is better defensively. myers had a down year on a canucks team that had a down year. zaitsev had a solid year on a sens team that had a (relative to expectations) solid year. any amount of regression to the mean puts myers > zaitsev, and the 3rd helps move things along

Oh I’m not questioning the logic! The trades actually really well thought out. If Ottawa sees Myers as an upgrade I’m sure they’d jump all over it, the third definitely helps solidify that. I just think the flip side to that is any regression from Myers makes the trade an L for Ottawa as well. But then again you could say that of any trade. I do like the premise tho! Well put together for sure
