Cap wise it doesn’t work, and I’m not sure they would even consider this to be honest. Mohan needs a new deal next year. Probably not going to be less than what he’s making….

The OTT trade made me think a bit but, I would politely decline... the departure of Chabot and Brown leave too big of a whole

I actually made a post recently showing how that swap does work cap wise, with no other trades for Vegas. It just means VGK can’t bring back Martinez (which let’s be honest, was probably not gonna happen anyway), and also probably has to let Nosek/Brown/Janmark walk if they want more than league min. Stephenson would get bumped down to the 3rd line, Roy would move to 4C, and then VGK just needs 2 of Glass, Kolesar (I had these two), Krebs, Elvenes, or Dugan to crack the lineup to fill internally, or they can find league min guys to sign instead. Also Monahan has 2 years left.

I would think Ottawa declines because the trade really doesnt out them any further ahead. That being said, the value is definitely close if not there already

2 years compared to 5 is my point. I don’t have any hopes in glass at this point

Again Ottawa fan-boys are ridiculous about undervaluing Monahan and overvaluing Brown. It’s so laughable
