Dallas doesn’t have the cap for Kerfoot, plus we would lose him in the expansion draft for nothing.

Thank you! I am not sure what player my fellow leaf fans watched this year... But trading him is the last thing the Leafs should do.

Well, you see Hamilton doesn't have to re-sign in Carolina if he doesn't want to.

He also gets to move into his hometown, where his entire family lives.

Hamilton will not get more money than Pietrangelo.

Point is he’s not taking a discount for a team like Toronto. If they want him they’ll likely have to pony up snd be highest bidder.

And has to deal with constant dragging by media and fans which he notoriously doesn’t like. Why would he choose to spend rest of his career there. He can live there in offseason and retire there.

He's on the last year of his contract, if I could replace his cap with hamilton and get assets back for him I would 100% do it, rather than losing him at the end of next season. Morgan Reilly has also been here since the very first collapse. On top of that, the powerplay has been a disaster and Hamilton is amazing at that.

I don't think you understand that Hamilton will get a deal that's very similar to Torey Krug's, if not less. Torey Krug signed, last off-season for 6.5 mill over 7 years.

All reports indicate it’s just below Pietro range. Where’d you see that it’ll be Krug range?

Pietrangelo captained a team to a championship before getting his extension. He's been an all-star 3 times. A Norris candidate for the last 10 years. Dougie Hamilton is not getting 8.8 million dollars. At max, he gets 7.5.

Also 5 years older? Dougie’s production and underlying analytics are right there with Pietro for last few years. I’m just asking for where you’re getting those estimates on his deal. If it’s based solely on your speculation that’s fine. I just wouldn’t be so sure but to each his own.
