The money is replaceable in this deal. What you should really be asking is where's the stuff Car wants?

You're right. I was thinking deal signed with VAN after the trade, not deal signed by CAR for the extra year. And honestly, they wouldn't be taking Schmidt off your hands to clear the cap space anyways.

Carolina Isn’t getting Hamilton back Sign and Trades rarely ever happen if you knew how the offseasons play out despite Always talk about Sign and trades. So If Carolina is actually able to do a Sign and Trade they'd be happy with a Good Dman a prospect and a extra Draft pick for someone they prolly just lose for nothing in Free Agency.

Buddy, you really do know nothing about the business of hockey. Every other team in the league would give a better offer than this in a sign and trade.

In theory this is correct. However what they don't need is the contract player to be the main piece. This would also make 5 defencemen on the team making top 4 money long term with Svechnikov and others still to sign. Your opinion has no bearing on how much Schmidt's money kneecaps this team. If they did a deal they would be happier getting a random prospect and a pick without Schmidt and Vancouver cannot afford to pay him so there's no deal here.

It's crazy how aggressive people get on here about one point on a multi point topic when the deal clearly falls apart with one good look.
