I think they'd be hesitant even in a 1 for 1 deal just due to the cap hit and injuries.

Chicago easily declines. We aren't trading 2 A prospects/players plus another suspected A- player all very young for 1 A+ player. Rebuilding teams can't afford to lose 3 A/A- players for 1 star, not to mention Eichel is not worth that.

Eichel = 1 very solid B+/A- middle age player with a larger cap hit, 1 A/A- prospect, and 1 1st round pick IMO.

The Flyers trade suggests that you think Risto is as good as Konecny or Couturier, OR, Reinhart is so much better than Coots/TK that adding the other Flyers player makes it more even. Either way the Flyers decline hard.

Genuinely hilarious takes from Hawks fans in here. I watch Kirby play, I dont mean to burst your bubble but Kirby will never be as good as Jack Eichel was in the 2019-20 season. He is in the matt duchene tier of centers, the type of players that consistently put up around 60-70 points per season but never much more. Jack Eichel is far more with over 100 points a season as his peak. Boqvist is a really good A- level offensive defenseman young player, but him + Dach and that first while also getting off the Connolly contract is far more than fair value for the Hawks. The only point of contention i have is just that Eichel doesnt fix our problems, if Eichel was say, Zach Werenski, an elite #1 two way defenseman, Id be far more willing to make a move like this (with less value going to CBJ than Buffalo would get) but the reason is because our issues are not scoring and offense, its defense. We are the worst team in the league at allowing shot attempts and were heavily bailed out by an insane start to the season from Lankinen. But looking at the value here, Dach is not Jack Eichel, and he frankly, never will be and considering hes not even a guarantee to hit even prime Duchene level, the 11th pick and Boqvist is absolutely fair value for Eichel alongside Dach

Add the 22 1st and olofsson for us to open negotiations. We don't want to trade Dach or Boq. So would need to be more than worth our while. Something You would not consider seeming you want an alarmingly large haul for Eichel who is a top player though has had issues and also does have a large cap.

I think you will find the sentiment is not because of the value but as you say, it doesn't work for us in our timeline, he is also coming off an injury which is normal for most pro athletes and he does have a large cap. Is he better then Dach, yes he is. Is it too early to call what Dach's ceiling is, again I would say yes. Does losing our best 2 prospects and a good chance at a top prospect for a top 20 player in the league improve us that much. I don't think so and that is why the sentiment is to not make a move for Eichel. It leaves us with more holes and we lose cap flexibility.

Philly isn't trading Coots and TK for that.
