Do you think the thought hasn’t crossed Sid’s mind?

Nope. Nor do i think you've ever scratched the surface of what would be needed to get Sid.

I don’t think the return matters much. The way I look at this is:

Option A) Sid wants to remain a Penguin for life.
Option B) Sid thinks he has a better chance of winning cups somewhere else, and picks the Habs for a multitude of factors, which is, to me personally, the only place I’d see him going.

Option A, I think most would agree, should be the favourite. But in my mind there’s a significant non-zero chance that it’s option B. In the event that Crosby were ever to make that choice, he’s calling the shots, and the return will be what the return will be. It could be less than 3 firsts for all you or I know.

Sid isn't going anywhere and the return would be a king's ransom no matter what if he did get moved. While three firsts is a nice return, it's a starting point. You'd have to pile on at least one decent roster player and a top prospect.

Sid has the clout to ask for a mutually agreed upon contract termination if he wants. Then he could sign anywhere as a UFA.

You might get one 1st, a player, and a prospect.

The point is, who knows, and who cares what the return would be. This all hinges on what Sid wants. This off-season. Next offseason. And the off-season after that.

Not to be a dick, but we do know. He's retiring a Penguin and that has been made very clear.

You can believe what you want. But the force of your conviction speaks nothing to the validity of your thoughts.

It's been made very public by him and the Penguins organization. Keep latching on to that belief though.

Amazing how much certainty you are trying to project. Sounds to me like you’re scared.

No organization, for obvious reasons, is going to discuss future trades of star players in advance.

I sound scared because I'm relaying what Sid is on record saying? I think you may have mental issues.

Any link or source for that?

You really go to the point of suggesting mental health issues?
