Where is the trade?

Not only that, but this trade kinda stinks for both sides. Gaudreau probably walks as a FA, drouin is essentially a cap dump, and while Anderson can be effective, he’s a bit injury prone, and he’s overpaid. Under 0.5 PPG in the regular season in a weak Canadian division, 1 pt in 12 playoff games. He’s definitely not worth 5.5 million for 7 years, although Anderson provides MTL with some size and grit up front so he can be effective. So once again, deal stinks for both sides, but it’s much worse for CGY. .

CGY would be better off moving Johnny Hockey to Philly/NJ with an extension for a nice little package.

Really interesting piece with Anderson in there, think he would be a great fit with Sutter but the price tag just doesn't make a ton of sense. Taking on 11 million over the next two years really straps the Flames in a bad spot, if Giordano goes to Seattle it could make a bit more sense but it's just too steep for the Flames I think.

This would be the only way the Flames take on a guy like Drouin, the Flames have way to many guys like Drouin already and would need a big body like Anderson who has always been rumored to be connected with Calgary.

Flames very very very easily decline. They don’t really want either of those player and really like gaudreau and gaudreau wants to stay long term. The flames will not be trading gaudreau
