Thats a hard no from Toronto. Wilson is awesome but also a cap casualty for us. The Leafs would love Wilson but we have Amirov and Akhtiamov in our long-term future. Liljegren is getting a shot with us next. year from the looks of it and no offence goalies are voodoo. It's hard to tell if a season was a fluke or if he's the real deal. We got Venni Vevainlinen from CBJ for Lehtonen and I think they'd give him a chance next year.

From a value perspective it's ok but I don't think the Leafs do it due those prospect upside.

Wilson would cost Nylander

i just assumed Wilson would replace the potential Hyman cap hit.... Then leafs could move Kerfoot or he gets taken byy Seattle to clear up cap space

I think the Leafs won't re-sign Hyman but they are going after forwards that fit their style of possession and etc. Guys like Dvorak, Domi and Bertuzzi would be candidates to replace Hyman. Like I said I think the Leafs would love Wilson but KD will value his prospects more as its gonna be the way the Leafs save $$ on the cap later years.

imo i think Wilson is the type of player they would trade for to play with Nylander and Matthews

Ya don't get it twisted we would love Wilson but I think both teams are at cross roads of what they want do with their core/supporting cast. I just don't think KD will try the grit thing again with how Simmonds, Folingo and etc. played. He's gonna go to back to his original idea of how he wants to build the Leafs. Grit is more of a decline acquisition

imo Wilson is both skill and talent more like a Matthew Tkachuk than a Simmond, FolsReeves type. I understand what you are saying though

As a leafs fan I'd definitely take this, Wilson has a decent contract and should be a good hyman replacement so we don't give him like 6x6 or something. Vanicek is cheap and could make for a decent 1A or 1B with Campbell.
