Anything you change and not trading Dubois for anything?

Jets aren't likely to give up on Dubois at this point. There are no other options at 2C, as Stastny is UFA and Little is likely on LTIR next year.

No chance Copp could take that spot, or does he play primarily on the wing. Maybe add Danault as a FA?

They aren’t taking two rentals

First I don't think Hertl waives for Winnipeg. But the trade is interesting. The Jets are in a win mode and maybe they think they can fill two roster spots while just deleting one. Then they have cap space as Hertl and Manson are UFAs next season.
Not saying the Jets do the deal...but it's a good thought for a trade.

Of course the trade would only happen if they come with extensions in place for WPG. Is the value off was the q

You mean Rakall right? I think you do. But yes, both we would have to come with extensions in place

I can't believe anyone would have to ask " who says no". Obviously it's the team giving up a 22 year old 1B center for 2 rentals.

Well, Copp likely won’t be a jet next year. He filed for arbitration last year, and he has the same agent as marner. He wants a lot of $ to stay long term, or he will just file for arbitration to get him to free agency. So Jets likely look to move Copp.

Now, Danault as a FA is interesting. I doubt the Jets give up on Dubois at this point. So unlikely this trade happens.

As for who says no, Manson! He already has the Jets on his no trade list so the deal is done before it even started.

But the Jets would say no. Essentially two rentals for Laine and Roslovic. Not a great look. Even if they have the cap space, they likely would struggle to bring those guys back. I like steel but not enough to risk losing Rakell and Manson.

Good points, did not know that about Copp.

Alright, my bad for not having that in the description. Yes, they obviously would have to come with extensions in place

Yeah it’s unfortunate as I love Copp. Great player, perfect Swiss Army knife. Just sucks as he is likely leaving. Once you see a player file for arbitration it’s usually not too long until they’re off the team.

Even with extensions I think Jets say no. Manson really doesn’t do a whole lot long term, yes he would help, but not a crazy amount over pionk and demelo. Rakell likely barely fits into the top 6 of the Jets.

Copp had a spell at 2C during the 2019-20 season when Little went down early with a season-ending (and perhaps career-ending) injury. Copp did ok but the telling sign was that in the offseason they signed Stastny, implying the Jets didn't think he would be an effective 2C. He is a responsible 2-way wing/centre but I think he tops out at 3C or 2wing.

I think Danault has figured out how to manage the pressure/scrutiny of being a Quebecer playing for the Habs. Since he has that all sorted, I doubt he leaves so long as he gets a decent offer from Bergevin.

The rumours here are that Manson wouldn't waive to come here at the deadline which is why Chevy came up empty so it's unlikely you could trade us Manson.

To move Dubois I'd need a long term solution to my top pair RHD problem in return and that is more than just being 30 years old and being willing to extend here for the twilight of their careers.

There isn't anything proven that fits the bill on the roster, so I'd have to turn to prospects and with the Ducks about to rebuild it doesn't make sense for you to trade those.

Unfortunately when I look at the Ducks everyone is either too old, too young or not good enough to move the needle for us.
