Going for a LW and a Goalie

Description
I’m sure those trades with the Isles and Sharks are going to get a lot of attention but we are in a unique position offer cap relief and strength our team. As bad as the Burns contract is, it’s still better than adding Vlasic or Karlsson who are on two of the worst deals ever. Burns will no doubt continue to regress but I think he can play on a bottom pairing with young guys like Broberg or Jones who can pick up the skating slack. He’s also a valuable leader and we could use more of that. Kane is still a very good player and he would be dynamite playing with 97. The Isles trade gives us a starting goaltender and a guy to replace what Kassian did for us in Clutterbuck.

The Brassard signing gives us a cheap veteran rental with good offensive production who can play a middle six role. Bunting is going to be a steal for someone as a UFA. He’s 25 and he plays the perfect bottom six game, physical but still productive. Look at that fourth line!

A 1st and a prospect is the price for Kane without anything else involved.

Burns with that much retention undoubtedly has positive value so EDM should be the ones adding on top of what’s already here, not SJ.

SNJ rejects the offer. Players like Krill and Kahun have very little value compared to Kane and Burns.

I can see dropping one of the picks on your end and adding one piece on our end. That’s about it though

So SJ has to pay a premium to move Burns who is useful but you attach some trash to kassian and he disappears.
