I like the creativity.

I think the Vancouver trade will need adjusting, don’t think a first will come back to Buf in such a scenario, but it does create cap space for a team that needs it badly.

One funny thing is I don’t think Buf would hit the cap floor, unless the buyouts aren’t counted in the cap calculation table. This team has 26 players, so 3 need to go to the minors. That will be 2.5-3M ‘savings’ which would put the team right near the floor.

You can take all the cap dumps you want, you aren't getting Hoglander

Taking on 4 cap dumps, over 10 mill, to juice a slight bit more value out of Reinhart doesnt seem to be worth it

Not sure why the leafs would have any interest in giving up the better Dman who is cheaper and adding a 2nd.

Van would make that trade everyday of the week, moving a guy that had a decent rookie season but nothing special Hoglander and a first to relieve themselves of 16 mil of pure cap dump and get a young top 6 forward who can play wing or centre and can signed to a 8 yr deal at a decent #, Hoglander is good but Reinhart is the better player today and in the future.

Sabres easily decline

No Vancouver wont....
All those cap dumps are the books after next year
1 can be bought out, 1 can still play and the other 2 can be buried in the minors and Vancouver can survive.

Vancouver will not trade Hoglander/1st for Reinfart
