Kings are out, Ducks won't move Zegras, Calgary won't move Tkachuk. Hurricanes can't make that move until they are positive Dougie is leaving. I think its between Minnesota, NY, Las Vegas, and CBJ.

Wasn't mostly made off who is in on Jack, because everything is super foggy and there's no clear answer, was more in my opinion what it would take each team to get Jack. I don't think the ducks will move Zegras either but I think that's what it takes to get them Jack, same with Tkachuk, and the Carolina was yeah on the basis of Dougie leaving

What it takes and what it will be will depend on how long the Sabres wait and how many suitors are involved. I think the Sabres should move before the draft to maximize the number of teams with actual cap space to get it done once the free agency opens up. At the end of the day it's who gives the best offer, the fewer suitors they have, the lower the final price.

Oh yeah I agree, the whole "what it takes" part was sheerly guessing and estimating, no one knows for sure

Buffalo isn't in any rush to get the Eichel deal done, right? I think Carolina should know if Dougie is coming back or not before Eichel is delt

I'd take this deal as a Canes fan

I've been trying to imagine what the return for a player as incredible as Jack Eichel would be but given that Taylor Hall was moved for only a 2nd (yes I know he had the NMC and all the leverage but still) I feel like I'd be way off base with any evaluation

It really depends on whether or not they want a 2021 first rounder or not. It sounds "far away" but the draft is in barely over a month. Not that long in hockey terms. If they wait any longer they run the risk of trying to trade him after teams have addressed needs through free agency (making cap situations more difficult to manage) or trying to trade him mid-season. Buffalo can't risk waiting to trade until his NMC kicks in and he has full control over where he goes. They already barely have any leverage.

Calgary and LA are all but out.

Rangers offer last year apparently didn’t include kakko and I’ve seen mentions that due to the situation they lowered the offer a bit. Think it’ll be around Chytil, Lundkvist, jones and a 1st or two. Possibly Strome as well for cap.

Minnesota is pretty fair, but is Buffalo really going to take Rossi as the primary get back? He hasn’t played hockey in a long time due to his COVID complications.

Carolina just doesn’t make too much sense to me. Buffalo needs a bit of everything so I would think a good defensive prospect would have to be included as well. Also don’t think they’ll be able to afford it after extension for svechnikov and if they resign Hamilton. Since that won’t necessarily happen by the 2021 draft I just find them unlikely trade partners.
