And yes, the Danault contract you suggested is by far the worst. His deal should start with a 3 handle. Adam Lowry’s deal is a much more relevant comp for Danault’s new deal than Pageau’s.

While I'd love to see what Drouin could do, the reality is no team that's up against the cap can afford to take on a guy that you're not sure if he's going to play or not. He's someone I'd want to take a flyer on a 1 year deal if he was bought out or had his contract terminated but I doubt that would be the case.
