Yea unfortunately the Kings won't make that trade. Byfield is unanimously the best prospect currently in the NHL plus they no.9 is a lot for Kings to give up for Marner.

Honestly, I think it's very similar to the Eichel situation. Kings would be interested, but the asking price would be so astronomical they'd be quickly out of the discussion. With the contract that he's signed to, I don't think there's a "fair value" trade for Marner. Leafs won't get what they want or teams trading for Marner won't want to take on 11mil in cap.

Ok ya I agree, that’s why I went with byfield and a first there cause I’m thinking the leafs aren’t looking to move marner but maybe they could be convinced so it would take an offer that’s hard to turn down.
I get from the kings side you should be able to trade for other wingers to play in the top 6 at a lot lower cost.

You're in the wrong mindset if you are thinking the kings are giving up a pick to get the Leafs out of a bad cap situation. Think Mantha for Vrana, Panik, and a 1st.
