I would accept that trade! I really like DeBrusk, and believe he would look very good in a oilers jersey. Maybe put him beside McDavid and Puljujarvi..

Oil say deal. Makes sense for BOS perhaps if Seattle takes that package deal you describe.

    S Jones is over rated. C Jones is a 7th d.

That Buffalo trade. C’mon. You are better than that.

Not sure which is worse, that one from Sabres side, or Oilers from Boston side.

I know however, Reinhart is an RFA that isn't re-signing in Buffalo. Sabres get back Studnicka who might excel given the opportunity and Vaakanainen who will play regularly in Buffalo.

You don’t think they get better offer than a pair of mediocre prospects?

No. If you want to be sure of Jones extending, you don't get to pay a cheap rental level price for him. And that's where I'd put Carlo-straight-up; his injury issues are starting to make him look a lot like Ryan Murray, and y'all might be able to remember what we ultimately did with him.

We're going to get better offers from teams outside of our own division, why would we do this ?

This is the reason you are an armchair GM and professional teams would never listen to your opinions. Jones is worth a lot more than that. The price for Jones is a young roster player, an A prospect, and a 1st round pick, at minimum.

We don't know what Studnicka is. I think hes an above average prospects. Needs to play regularly regardless what team he is on. I think Studnicka will be a solid 2nd line center. Just my opinion.

He is excellent. However, once a player tells a team hes gone getting a player of Carlo's caliber is an excellent return.

Ditch that jones deal. Not even sure it’s good now, and it really isn’t fun when the top two on the right side are costing 18 million.

That would be true if he weren’t a rental.

When you have a one goal lead you put Jones and Mcavoy on at the same time. Minute munching studs.

Feel free. This isn’t like an outside the box opinion here. I think that’s a pretty standard 2+2=4 statement. I don’t think there’s many people in the NHL world that would think carlo isn’t better than jones defensively. Wouldn’t be surprised if thats a unanimous opinion actually.

For those analytics people out there, his drop off has happened since Panarin left. So do the math. Players of his age group and his athleticism do not just drop off like that. Put him on a team that has more offense from the forward group and he will be right back at or above where he was two years ago.

For those anti analytic people: watch. Carlo is clearly the superior defensive player.
