You seem to have 1st, 2nd 3rd line fascination with a junior aged player who has played 3 NHL gamers. Gee, I hope Robertson has the scoring ability to play with the top centre and PP. But even speedy goal scorers can play on the third line. Third line players don't have to have hands of stone. Gee and call him poor defensively wow, quite a statement. Even if true, can't a teenager learn to play better defensively.
Sorry , I didn’t know the 5’9, 170 pound kid has such a long reach and long stick defensively. That’s his scouting report?? Good two-way player??
I don’t think thats quite a statement or something that hasn’t been said b4.
Im not saying he’s a bust right now. I’m saying, he’s stays with the leafs and the leafs roster stays constructed similarly, in my opinion, He will be.
Somehow he fits and builds chemistry on a line with Matthews/Marner. Or JT/Nylander. Great, then I’m wrong.
Or like u said, Marner or Nylander gets traded. Then great. He fits!!
Otherwise. Most likely, Leafs construct a team that employs more physical, better defensively, 3rd and 4th line wingers.
And try to fill out the top 2 lines with more of a gritty, net front presence.
Every team and fan should have seen this postseason to make a long run in the playoffs. U need guys like that. And lines constructed similarly. Or u will get beat in a 7 game series by teams that do.
I’d be willing to bet u see Joey Anderson on the 3rd 4th line more consistently and sooner than Nic Robertson.
As a leafs fan, I’m hoping they do everything in their power to bring back Hyman, Foligno, Simmons and Bogo. Not too worried about Nic Robertson finding his footing on the 3rd or 4th line.
And I’d bet, neither is the organization. Atleast it’s not one of their top priorities.
Sure prospect development is important. But not so much if u are worried about the play-offs and SC every year. Take it from a Pens fan.
