yes. But at the same time things could happen and the Atlantic is gonna be f*cked next year. I also think FLA outperformed its roster if you know what I mean. Like to see TBL, BOS, TOR and for wildcard teams like MTL, NYR, PHI, etc. ahead of them wouldn't surprise me.

Again i recognize how unrealistic this is

really? For a rental? Rental Taylor Hall fresh off of an MVP season didn't even get this much at the start of the season. This would be a deadline deal

There’s a huge difference in Taylor hall who was not good the season he was traded and barkov who will most likely be at a ppg pace and selke consideration.

Would you trade Matthews for that return? Barkov only becomes a rental if they trade him. He’s more than likely signing and staying in FLA

I think you need to find an upgrade on Holl as the number 1 priority.

Nic Robertson can’t play on that 3rd line. He’s not big enough, not physical enough, not good enough defensively to play on a legit NHL 3rd or 4th line. He’s a top 6 or bust.

F.Hallander will be a player that starts off as a 3rd or 4th line LW and work his way up to a top 6 like Hyman and Rust did.

Maybe? I think Florida makes some changes this summer and also gets Ekblad back. I see them as a top 3 team in the Atlantic next year

You put him on the 3rd line to phase him into the NHL, he wont stay there

Good luck!!

In my opinion, leafs should trade Robertson. I don’t see where he fits. Will be another J.Bracco in their organization. Wasn’t that obvious from this season.

Hallander is the prospect Leafs fans should be clambering for. Another net front, two-way player.

Three first rounders for a rental Barkov? If the Leafs aren't good enough they aren't good enough.

Don't know how you compare Bracco and Robertson right now. Robertson was still of junior age last season. The only reason he was even a Leaf was because the OHL, the junior league was cancelled and the AHL was late starting. Bracco played all junior eligibility before he even was a pro. Gee, if you do like the Leafs so be it, but let's be real. Don't understand your logic, on "where he fits". Lots of diminutive wingers play in the NHL

Top prospect in the organization. Has to be a top 6 or bust.

No room in The Leafs top 6 for another smaller, not physical, not great defensive, wing. Marner 1st line, Nylander 2nd line. They both need paired with a wing like Hyman, Foligno, Rust. Again, Robertson doesn’t fit. Doesn’t even fit on the 2nd PP unit.

He looked overmatched and overpowered at the NHL level last season. I don’t know. Seems similar to me. Similar players. U cant even pretend they are not.

You think that we will be the 7th best team in the atlantic? After the season we had with big injuries as well? That's insane

I don't agree with your analysis. I guess all junior aged players who aren't in the NHL are going to be busts by your logic.

No, how do u assume that. Just players that can only be a top 6 player and have no room for them in the organization. I said Hallander is the prospect Leafs fans should be clambering for. He fits their needs.

Oh, I agree that Hallander is near NHL ready. But even if Robertson spends a year in the AHL, doesn't mean there won't be spot for him in the NHL or the Leafs, even in the so called top 6.
Who know what the lineup will look like in 22/23. Marner, Nylander and Robertson might be the only wingers that Leafs have on their roster now on the team in 22/23.

I don’t understand why this is hard to understand?? A 5’9-5’10, 170 pound, not physical, not good defensive wing does not play on a good, play-off teams 3rd or 4th line. It’s a compliment really.

If u are like the Kings and rebuilding. Great. But not on a competing team.

Just phase him in. Lol. Great call coach.

Cause points in the NHL are so easy to come by. A team with SC hopes really have time for that or employ that strategy often.

Good luck man. I hope he works out. Not on the 3rd line though. I will guarantee u that.

You seem to have 1st, 2nd 3rd line fascination with a junior aged player who has played 3 NHL gamers. Gee, I hope Robertson has the scoring ability to play with the top centre and PP. But even speedy goal scorers can play on the third line. Third line players don't have to have hands of stone. Gee and call him poor defensively wow, quite a statement. Even if true, can't a teenager learn to play better defensively.

Sorry , I didn’t know the 5’9, 170 pound kid has such a long reach and long stick defensively. That’s his scouting report?? Good two-way player??

I don’t think thats quite a statement or something that hasn’t been said b4.

Im not saying he’s a bust right now. I’m saying, he’s stays with the leafs and the leafs roster stays constructed similarly, in my opinion, He will be.

Somehow he fits and builds chemistry on a line with Matthews/Marner. Or JT/Nylander. Great, then I’m wrong.

Or like u said, Marner or Nylander gets traded. Then great. He fits!!

Otherwise. Most likely, Leafs construct a team that employs more physical, better defensively, 3rd and 4th line wingers.

And try to fill out the top 2 lines with more of a gritty, net front presence.

Every team and fan should have seen this postseason to make a long run in the playoffs. U need guys like that. And lines constructed similarly. Or u will get beat in a 7 game series by teams that do.

I’d be willing to bet u see Joey Anderson on the 3rd 4th line more consistently and sooner than Nic Robertson.

As a leafs fan, I’m hoping they do everything in their power to bring back Hyman, Foligno, Simmons and Bogo. Not too worried about Nic Robertson finding his footing on the 3rd or 4th line.

And I’d bet, neither is the organization. Atleast it’s not one of their top priorities.

Sure prospect development is important. But not so much if u are worried about the play-offs and SC every year. Take it from a Pens fan.

FLA is a playoff team in the Atlantic, Barkov won't be traded if FLA is contending even if they don't plan on resigning him
