Created by: sensonfire

Description
These are 4 of the 6 teams that have a serious interest in acquiring Jack Eichel, according to Pierre Lebrun.

Columbus, Minnesota, Anaheim, LA Kings

I left out the Flyers and the Rangers because they are in the East and they could challenge for a playoff spot next season, posing a threat to Buffalo.

Which of these trade packages for Jack Eichel do you like most for Buffalo?

Right. So how was it a mistakes for LA.??

You understand u are proving my point. That it was t a mistake for LA to do that. And Lindros to Phily could be seen a mistake for Phily. But like I said, only cause Quebec/Avs got lucky with Fosburg. So getting Duchene and Karlsson were the two biggest mistakes. It wasn’t repeated.

15 million cash for Peter Pocklington and no cups with Gretzky on the team?

You can keep saying that "oh man wait and see," but you have nothing supporting your argument.

Nyquist, 5th OVA, 22nd, and the 24th isn't the kings ransom you think it is. Even with the condition that Eichel plays half the games for an additional 1st.

It’s more likely Columbus would move Seth first to whomever for extra sweeteners to put in a package. Even then I think they would target Reinhart first. Not sure why they’d go rebuild and then pull another 2019 Deadline and be left with very little.

        Yep, I did.

Teams with top 10 picks are typically rebuilding too. It’s why it doesn’t work either. Eichel won’t put them over the edge and they arnt gonna just abandon a rebuild.

It’s why I said the Minnesota trade u posted is the most reasonable and most likely. But without the 3rd 1st.

Thank you for your participation smile

Yea I agree. Columbus doesn't really make sense for Eichel.

I think the kings owner made more than 15M selling the Kings franchise after Gretzky rebuilt the whole west coast NHL. But that’s just history and all the west coast expansion teams made possible by Gretzky and the Kings.

There are some delusional fans that think they're getting Zegras + Drysdale + 3 1sts, and that's obviously not happening. The return that most people are expecting is a great prospect, good prospect, roster player (for cap reasons), and a 1st. Maybe a cap dump thrown in there to match salaries and a pick added. Is that what you consider the "huge" return?

It largely depends on the teams. I mean realistically of those teams, who could afford to take on Eichel for long-term? Anaheim makes the most sense with Getzlaf, Backes, and Miller coming off the books. Would they move the pieces that would be desired? Minnesota has to negotiate with Kaprizov for starters. Depending on the team, I think maybe you could see an extra roster player added in with the sweetener of a mid level prospect / pick for taking them. How it affects the overall structure of the deal is to TBD by GMs obviously. Columbus and Buffalo may luck into a few phone calls from teams who need help with Seattle protections due to Jackets Picks and Buffalos alleged cap space. If Adams plays his cards right, he could make the franchise turn out all right post July Expansion, Draft, and FA.

They did not, they are likely in on Reinhart though

        > who could afford to take on Eichel long term

Realistic teams right now: Anaheim, LA, Calgary, NYR, Columbus, Arizona, Minnesota, St. Louis, Carolina (if they let Dougie walk)

With some cap maneuvering: Carolina (if they resign Dougie), Vegas

        > Minnesota has to negotiate with Kaprizov for starters

Minnesota has room for Eichel even with resigining everybody. The trade would likely include sending some cap like Rask back.

        > Adams plays his cards right, he could make the franchise turn out all right post July Expansion, Draft, and FA.

        True

If they are in on Reinhart, then they shouldn't mind straight-up handing the Sabres the 8th overall pick for the upcoming draft.

If Rob Blake/Luc Robitaille are unable to make tough, high-stakes decisions and execute on them, they shouldn't be running the LA Kings.

They should ask themselves this question:

Do they want to win now or do they want to win later?

The answer should be crystal clear.

Kinda hard to ignore Lambert and Savoie too. Lambert was a monster at WJC
