With White posting really good Corsi #s and Brann getting closer to his prime it seems likely that they're combined as valuable as Monahan next year 😕

At very least tbh: Brann had an elite pts/60 last year

For a bit less $ even and it's only 2 years of Sean

Sens play-off push might be the funniest title I’ve seen on here yet.

So great. With V.Mete as the teams 3rd pairing LHD..??

What happens if there is an injury. Wow they are screwed if u have Mete, a 5’8 D-man, playing important minutes night in and night out.

Hey atleast u got rid of your other 5’8 D-man in this ACGM.

What would Sens fans think about Guentzel, Pettersson, Poulin and 2022 1st round pick for Tkuchuk and Zaitsev..?

Zaitsev’s contract is 18M total and Pettersson’s is 20M total and Pettersson has one more year of term. And Pettersson just turned 25, signed till hes 29 years old. He fits in way better with Sens timeline, and Zaitsev(29 years old and signed till 33) fits with the Pens.

Poulin is a 6’2, 215 pound power forward, he’s not Brady Tkuchuk, but should play a similar role very soon.

Guentzel signed long term for 6M. Tkuchuk needs a new deal.

I mean, they're both listed 5'9", not 5'8", but Boston seemed to do okay getting to cup finals with Krug & Grzelcyk. Mete - he showed a lot after the Sen's claimed him.

Big guys can also get injured. I'd agree that they are probably a little thin

Please don’t compare Mete to Krug Or Grzelcyk. Krug is a top 3 Point on the PP in the whole NHL.

I don't think there's much that gets the Sens to move Tkuchuk. I mean, there's trades out there, but not that's realistic. I'm not sure they'd do Lafreniere straight up. I don't think there's anything the Pens could do outside of Crosby+. Not saying anything about 'fair value', but that I think the Sens (team and fanbase) value him more than the rest of the league would.

You specifically talked about short defensemen. Being short doesn't mean you can't play D in the NHL anymore, or that you're necessarily going to get injured at a higher rate. I brought up a team that came up 1 win short of the Cup with 2 defensemen the same size. And if the Sens do role with Brannstrom and Mete, they'll be 2nd & 3rd pair behind Chabot, who plays the most minutes in the league. (Though I think they would do well to reduce his ice time a little)

I brought up those 2 specific D-men. Mete and Brannstrom.

Even so, u can’t compare them at all. They arnt even the same caliber of player.

And Bruins with Krug and Grzelcyk both.

Missed playoffs
Missed playoffs
Lost 1st round
Lost 2nd round
Lost in finals.

It’s not finals appearances. One appearance. And they were paired with Chara and Carlo. Two huge D-men to help them not get pushed around.

I know you said NOT to compare them but if you had bothered to, you'd see that the 21 YEAR OLD Brannstrom had 1.35 points/60 this season on the bottom dwelling Senators.
The fact that he's just TWENTY-ONE is worth repeating...
Grzelcyk had 1.25 points/60 and Krug had .91 points/60 and they played on much better teams.
As for Mete, it's a ONE YEAR deal because he is not part of the plan. Sanderson will join the team as soon as UND's season ends and will quickly become the 2nd pairing guy behind Chabot, and probably be pushing for Chabot's spot by 2025.
The only thing I do agree with you about is that this team is NOT playoff team AT ALL. And I am very okay with that. Another great draft pick in 2022 and this team is stacked.

Great!! I agree. Keep tanking. Still need a #1 Center. Still need goalie help.

Sanderson is 18. I doubt u see him for another 2-3 years.

It's actually looking like a great rebuild for Ottawa and every single hockey analyst has said so, but hey if you feel the need to kick teams on your way DOWN... you do you.

Good luck!! In the right direction. Again, not there yet. Just honest. Not kicking nothing.

Being honest didn’t having to be knocking it, or kicking it.

Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking keep mete as the 6/7 d man or maybe sign one if the owner lets you spend abit over the cap cause a good solid bottom 6 vet to help mentor the young dman coming up would be nice just have to convince Eugene to spend over the cap floor

Monahan would thrive in Ottawa and easily be the number 1 centre and gus is a good backup option with upside and Sanderson is likely to play next year
