Not horrible for Seth actually but I don’t see Columbus wanting to eat his salary unfortunately.

Brodie Holl Lijlegren but TOR pay for 1 year of JK?

When Rielly is the exact same skillset

    🤔

    Not to mention huge overpayment

    Nick Robertson's cost controlled prime = 🤩

    Welcome to CF🧮

Reckon they may have to tho ultimately

Closest thing to a contender with cap space is NYR and with them so full on RD nor close to a cup it seems unlikely and then everyone else so stuck

If I were CBJ I'd be happy to use that $ to retain

Only for 1 non contending year / boosts the return

Interesting. Didn’t think this was a deal where Seth doesn’t extend. I’d love Guri but I don’t know who Jackets would target. They seem to be calculating some possible moves.

Gurianov by himself is not nearly enough to make a Jones trade happen. Especially if retention is involved. Giving up a core player for a single supporting cast player and no futures of consequence is not going to be a thing.

Jones isn’t a core player. He would have to re sign in Columbus to be a core player. So you’re selling him as a one year rental. Prepare to be disappointed

Folks who try to trade for him as a rental at rental prices are going to be outbid by folks who trade for him expecting him to stay. That kind of double-dipping discount attempt isn't happening.

Obviously demand will drive the price up some. But he isn’t a core piece for Columbus if he won’t sign In Columbus. If he’s willing to work with y’all on a sign and trade that would help a lot. But if he wants to “explore options” that will def hurt the return

He's a core value player. That's the point. Any team he goes to is going to have him as part of their core. So we're either going to want someone who fills existing needs (in the Immediate Bounceback scenario) or a prospect (or pick equivalent) that stands a strong chance of being a future core player (in either the Immediate Bounceback or Quick Rebuild scenarios). Gurianov doesn't really suit either.
