Description
TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun wrote in The Athletic Wednesday that conversations between the Buffalo Sabres and teams interested in the star centre are "getting more intense and serious."

LeBrun notes that the Sabres will be expecting to receive a 2021 first-round pick as part of their return for Eichel, putting the timeline for a deal ahead of the July 23 NHL Draft. He lists the Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers among the many clubs that could make sense as a landing spot.

Just some ideas.

Huge overpay by ANA, not even close. And Drysdale and Zegras are untouchable

"The Ducks have made it clear they have no interest in moving top prospects Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale, though other young highly touted players could be available, including Isac Lundestrom, Sam Steel, Jacob Perreault and Brayden Tracey."

Who needs to win now, who has the assets, who has the space to do this long term? I imagine he (his agent) will do whatever he can to show annoyance on being traded to a rebuilding team.

I'm thinking the Knights and Wild make sense to me.

              Drysdale isn't on the table.

Dont need to add him too. Zegras would be the one they want, but may be able to work around him

Horrible trade for Anaheim, and a bad one for Los Angeles. The higher the draft pick, the fewer assets should accompany it. Drysdale, Comtois and the third overall selection in this year's draft are three of our six best assets, and Drysdale and the pick are two of the three chances we have to develop an all-star (Zegras being the other). I sincerely hope that neither of my two local teams is seriously considering surrendering the future assets people seem to think will be required to obtain Eichel.

You’re not getting Werenski and 5th OA for Eichel. With Jones leaving Werenski becomes almost untouchable, unless Columbus decides to go full rebuild, in witch adding Eichel doesn’t make sense.

Comtois, Terry, Perreault, 2021 3OA would be the three "Highest Value" pieces ANA makes available imo. We just finished second last, adding Eichel doesnt take us out of the bottom 10 teams, I just dont see a fit for us given what the cost would (and should) be

BUF could get better returns out of (in no-order) Minny, LAK, CBJ, PHI and NYR to me, all of those teams are in a much better position to give up high quality young assets than the Ducks are

Currently ANA and CBJ are the front runners, thats why theres so many Anaheim Eichel trades lately

              La has dropped out

We really don't know that. Hoven said they did, but Friedman just said today that there are some that believe it's a negotiation tactic.

No we know for sure Zegras and Drysdale are untouchable, the report was literally talking about Eichel when it said those two are untouchable

Pretty much every single one of these is a drastic overpay.

You really need to take the reports of this neck injury seriously, and temper whatever large expectations you have.

He said the Ducks are in play, he didnt mention a word anywhere about Zegras or Drysdale.

It has already been said they are both 100% off the table in any trade for any player

Yes he did. He literally said, "The Ducks refused to include Drysdale and Zegras in their pitch to Columbus to trade for Pierre Luc Dubois (before he was traded to Winnipeg), so they may or may not be in play for #Sabres captain Jack Eichel.

That sounds a lot more like Friedman not actually knowing what type of offer is on the table, rather than him confirming they could be in an offer.

So he didnt say they are in play, thanks for proving my point for me. It has 100% been reported they are off the table, they have made it clear they are not trading either of them

Reading is important. He 100% did not say they are available. end of story
