Even if Rask is gone Holtby is not the answer. Plenty of better free agents that are better and don’t require surrendering assets.

I'd try to keep Schmidt instead of re-signing Edler and see if you could get Seattle to take Roussel to make it work cap wise. I also cant see anyone giving up a 3rd for Holtby unless a team is really really desperate for a goalie. It's definitely a sick team tho

I'm still a fan of Juolevi and I think he's got some development left in him. If Buffalo could get a LHD of Dahlin - Power - Juolevi, that would be one area they wouldn't need to focus on for at least 4 - 5 years

67 goalies played at least 10 games this year. Holtby ranked

      GAA - 65th
      SV% - 62nd
      GSAA - 65th
      HDSV% - 65th
      HDGSAA - 66th

^Holtby was easily one of the worst goalies in the NHL last year a makes $4.3 million. If you retained half, took back Moore and Wagner and threw in a 2nd then maybe its worth doing.

If you include Eriksson you add Hoglander or Podracer

Honestly, you dint need to make all these moves in one off season. Add Reinhart this year, add a defensemen next year. Look at the UFA d-crop next year, it’s loaded.

I like haula but not at that price point. Think you could save some money there.

The holtby trade seem very unrealistic.

That isn't getting you Reinhart and why in the world would the Sabres take Louie when we have Okposo's anchor of a contract. I got hammered when I suggested Hoglander and the 1st but my thought is if Mantha garnered Vrana, Caps 1st and a 2022 2nd and Reinhart and Mantha's stats are identical with the only difference being Mantha has 3 yrs of term left so if a sign and trade were to happen I think I stand with Hoglander and I'll drop to Vancouver's 2nd which would be closer to the Caps first and another draft pick in 22.
Also we have an abundance of LHD
