Eichel is 10x the player Zegras will ever be.

Hard to see the Ducks getting Eichel without giving up 2 of Drysdale, Zegras or 3OA.

Why

1) Dube is a better ES producer, almost half of Olofsson's career production is on the PP and he wouldn't have PP1 time in Calgary.
2) Dube is 3 years younger
3) Dube will be signed to a lower cap hit than Olofsson

Sure the 2nd would be nice, but the Flames aren't rebuilding so downgrading makes no sense.

I doubt Ana trades top 5 pick this season. Even for Eichel or Reinhart.

Olofsson's possession numbers are better, Sutter likes those guys.
Dube has been mediocre at best in three seasons, Olofsson has almost doubled his production in less games played
It's so far from a downgrade it is crazy. Dube is a middle six at best. Olofsson immediately makes the Flames PP 2 better, arguably this was Olafsson's worst statistical season on a really bad team and he was still better than Dube in his best season so far in regards to possession and production.

At absolute dog shirt worst for the Flames it's lateral and they get a more productive player right now.

Calling it a downgrade is incredibly biased and really wrong, the second shouldn't even be in there, if they aren't rebuilding they should take the player that makes them more dangerous right away as opposed to the player that could possibly produce at that level in a couple years. Once again all around bad take from the Flames top group of little minions

Penguins would IMO decline without hesitation. There is no room financially in the back-end for Risto. We had an older version of Risto in Jack Johnson and got rid of him. Not going back.

Olofsson is only more productive because he gets top PP minutes at ES he was less productive despite playing more. In Calgary Olofsson wouldn't get top PP minutes, thus he'd end up being less productive overall. As for "possession", I don't give two ****s until they start measuring it in time like it should be.

At best it is a lateral move with up to double the cap hit, It's a bad move.

So you'd argue that Olofsson's increased playing time is the reason he has significantly less giveaways last season? Points per 60, Olofsson still out produced. Over the last three seasons Olofsson out produced Dube at even strength in less games, and significantly out produced him on the power play, it's almost as if a team in the bottom third of the league in PP% like the Flames could use a guy who plays a ton of PP time, would be far better than Dube, Lucic, Backlund on the second unit.

Dube's stats could even be inflated compared to Olofsson cause he didn't have to play in Buffalo, this statistically, even the basic ones that you can understand was Olofsson's worst season and Dube's best, Olofsson was better..

The CapFriendly circle jerk Flames fans will continue to wank though!

PS, don't try edit your comments to take out insults, own it ya little goof ball!

Do you actually take giveaway stats seriously? The way the NHL tracks them is beyond flawed since every turnover is listed as either a giveaway or a takeaway but never both. The more you most, the more you convince me that what you know about hockey could be printed on a postage stamp

HAHAHA, I am simplifying it for you as you clearly didn't understand basic metrics the other day, and by your logic, significantly more playing time means that Olofsson's stats are inflated right??
Look at this cherry picked comment you just returned, you clearly just ignore stuff when you are incredibly wrong. Talk about the comment above or move along with your tail tucked. It's okay to be wrong.
