This is a real question, why are the Kings so high on him? He's a mid-second round pick that had 17 points for the USDP. Is he good in his own zone? I don't have time to do extensive research on players, like most people. Also, generally what do you think of this ACGM?

You would be happy if he spent 6 million dollars on a guy for the fourth line?

I see no reason for the Kings to do that trade, besides Kings-Bruins don't trade after they flipped Jones to SJ after trading to keep him out of the division.

Good joke. The last thing the Rangers need are more wingers, especially Left wingers

Coleman can play anywhere in the lineup. I put him on the 4th line.

Sure, but if you’re putting him on the fourth line, why give him six million (you’ve drastically overpaid him and Martinez).

Don't take my lines or contracts too seriously, it's a general ballpark. I geuss switch Coleman and Mcginn. My reasoning for Martinez was he'd be perfect on the top pairing with Mcavoy, he has offensive upside, can defend and blocks a ton of shots.

He has been a standout in all of the international tournaments since being drafted. He was a finalist for the B1G defensive player of the year as a Freshman, losing out to Sophomore Cam York. Most scouts agreed that after this season, Faber probably should have gone in the first round.

LA took Grans higher than Faber, yet most agree that Faber overtook Grans this year. He's a solid two-way guy that was touted for his defensive zone play, but has since become much better in the offensive zone. Not sure he'll be a top pairing guy, but he'll be a quality 2nd pairing guy. LA is hoping he'll become the new Slava Voynov (on-ice comparison only, obviously).

Unless it's for a significant upgrade, Faber isn't going anywhere.

Barely made the team because of such a low profile guy, started on the bottom pairing, moved to the top pairing with Cam York and looked like the most defensively sound player on the team. Ended up winning gold with him eating massive minutes playing with Turcotte centering the top line. He's also B1G Defensive finalist. Yannetti (Kings draft guru) saw something in him because he traded up to get him. The guy has done nothing but boost his draft stock as a top-4 pure defensive defenseman with potential offensive upside.

Faber's shown the ability to up his level of play when going against top-level competition at his age group. His World Juniors he ended up being the partner for Cam York on the top pairing, over players like Jake Sanderson. He then went and had a very good year for his college program and was nominated for the Defensive Player of the Year Award for the B1G. I believe the Kings view him with 2nd pairing NHL upside when he hits the professional level.

The pieces you have going to LA do nothing to move the needle. They have absolutely no interest in 3 replacement level bottom-6 players because there are already too many of those on the Kings roster as is. And even if there was interest, the # of contracts the Kings have and need to sign mean they don't want to bring in an extra two contracts.

So to sum up: You have the two best assets in the Kings trade going to the Bruins, you overload the Kings contract situation, and the Kings take on even more bottom-6 talent for them to try to sort through. Kings decline very easily.

I agree, thanks to you too, it's nice when you can actually discuss. Most people just comment "{insert team} HANGS UP" etc.
