Yeah, I think that's probably as solid an offer as you can expect. I'd do it. I don't want to give him 7x7 at all though, so that would need to come down.

Maybe the Pasta deal or the Provorov deal?

I would say 6x6.5M at the very most. Even that starts to get a little uncomfortable if he's on the low end of his career averages, and if he can't play center full time it downright sucks. I'd aim for 5x6M or lower.

It fine either way honestly because Rossi makes the team in 22 anyway

That's still too much money tied up in wingers. Between Kaprizov, Fiala, Reinhart, Zuccarello and Parise, something would have to give, and I have a strong suspicion that it wouldn't be the one we hope it is.

That's the main reason I wouldn't hate it if Guerin could find a team that will be awful for the next 4 years anyhow, like say idk Buffalo, and give them both 1st round picks to take Parise and buy him out immediately so he's free to sign wherever he wants to go chase a Cup on a league minimum 1 year deal. Maybe it costs more than the 2 picks but that's a starting point for the conversation.

I don't think that's worth it. The Parise deal sucks but two first round picks could be two additional top or middle six centers, top 4 defenseman or so forth that you're giving up just to move him, and we still need those types of prospects for when guys like Zuccarello, Suter, Spurgeon are gone, and to provide cheap depth in 4-5 years.

Oh believe me, I know it sucks but having Parise as a $7.5m healthy scratch when the team needs cap space hurts more imo. I guess it depends what immediate options are there to use the cap space to upgrade the roster for the next few years. If it sets the table for an Eichel trade that you'd have to be an idiot to not make, it's worth it.

The issue is the buyout schedule. It’s so bad and you can’t escape the cap hit at all. It sounds terrible, but LTIR is the only thing that doesn’t completely handcuff the wild.

The money doesn't work here. You're only paying 5M for KK, that will be at least 2M higher. You haven't addressed who Seattle will take. You also haven't fielded a full team yet. Once you did all of those things, I think you'll find the most we could pay Reinhart is 5.5-6M. I don't know if that's enough for him to sign for longer than a 1 year contract.
