Keeping Kuzy

Created by: Daniellajoie20
Team: 2021-22 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 17, 2021
Published: Jun. 17, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hagelin had a Rough end to the year. Need the Cap space. Move to whoever for whatever. Add Youth to 4L. Malenstyn / Jonsson-Fjallby battle for 4th line spot as LW. Or also move Hathaway to LW and Leason get looks too as 4RW.

I move Osh to 3rd line to grind it out and can play up when needed. Also for Mantha to play natural RW spot and be open for 1 timer chances. Also try the same for Sprong on LW to get forehand on the inside and develop from Ovechkin to be a LW. Could also help Kuzy to be able to distribute to Goal scorers on both sides.

OverCap but 2/3 of Malenstyn, Jonsson-Fjallby, Leason up at a time.

Wings pass, not the type of deal they are looking to do

Unsure as to what Detroit's Goalie depth/prospect pool looks like. Feel like he would be a good addition for a team building back up.

Chose Detroit for those reasons but more so to reunite him with Vrana.

Detroit already have two goalies. Bernier will re-sign as soon as the expansion draft is done.

Vanecek fills no role in Detroit.

Detroit takes that deal. They need a young goalie and a 2nd and 3rd is worth moving at this point IMO. If they trade for Vanecek, they can let Bernier walk or trade Greiss if they prefer to resign Bernier.

If McClellan can do something like this this summer, I would call it a success. Nice job.

Every trade that involves Detroit, a Red Wing fan says "no - we don't want that".

Okay then - stay at the bottom of the league and forever rebuilding

The Caps really should do something like this above and there are a few teams other than Detroit that could use a semi proven 25 yr old goalie like Edm, Buff, Chicago to name a few. I like him and see him as a really good backup or 1B option and actually hope he stays with the Caps. But unless they are sure that Seattle won't take him, I think you have to trade to get the value.
