Yep, I think Drury signed Lindgren as soon as the season was over because he plans to trade him in one year. Trade a 24 year old guy with a $3/million cap hit that pairs on our top D with Adam Fox for a draft pick. Brilliant!!

its a cap move bud, who do you want to move instead? cant move 8 or 20 until the offseason after this one, do you just want to let zib walk? trade buch? if robertsons ready theyd be fools to not look into moving lindgren

I guess that you're not following the OTT situation really well. OTT is the team with the most goalies in the farm.

    Murray (27) - 3yrs @ 6M
    Forsberg (26) - NHL backup
    Gustavsson (22) - NHL ready
    Daccord (22) - NHL ready
Søgaard (20) - AHL Starter ready
    Meriläinen (19) - Europe, 2 years away
    Mandolese (20) - AHL Backup

    OTT politely decline this

So you think a $3/million cap hit is to high for a top pair defenseman? One of the very few players on the team that actually plays a physical game too. Why do you think Drury signed him so quickly after the season ended and hasn't signed anyone else yet? Because he plans to dump his BARGAIN cap hit after a year? LOL. It is about the cap BUD....and $3 million for Lindgren is a BARGAIN. Trading him would be very, very foolish.

Who needs an alternative? You manage the cap by need and paying your top tier left side D man $3million/year is a bargain. The team does not have an excess of top tier left side D, but they do have an excess of wingers and right side D, so I'm sure some of them will be moved to bring in another center and some bottom 6 gritty players. That's how you manage a cap. You don't trade away your bargain players.

bro... give some specifics, are you trading buch this offseason cause thats what it sounds like. youre also way overvaluing lindgren hes good but dispensable, robertson will be more than capable of replacing him in a year

"thats how you manage a cap" lmao its math bud where are you finding the money

First off BRO.....the Rangers currently have plenty of cap cap space to take care of their RFA's this year and next as long as they don't do something stupid like trade for Eichel. Second, you are saying you know that a kid that hasn't played one minute of NHL hockey yet will be more than capable of taking over for our top pair left side D in one year, which is just ignorant. With Lindgren, you have a 20 minute per game physical defenseman that pairs with our young Norris Trophy candidate Adam Fox, but you want to trade him in a year because his cap hit will be $3 million or just 3.7% of the salary cap total. That is just plain dumb BRO. If the Rangers have a cap squeeze next season OR the season after that, then they trade a winger which they have too many of to begin with. That may mean Buchnevich or Kravstov or someone else, but you DON'T trade Fox's D partner who has a bargain contract. Is that specific enough for you BRO?

wow im so sorry that its so easy to get to you lmao wasnt even trying, but exactly he plays with adam fox and is completely dispensable. if you think the rangers have too many wingers you might want to take a look at the defensive depth. keeping buch/kravy > keeping lindy. sorry you dont comprehend cap BRO, maybe grow some thicker skin and learn how math works

Your intellect is grade school level BRO. There is no way to explain anything to you such as the Rangers biggest need is a top center like Monahan because you are a simpleton, and that they have an excess of young RW that they can't find enough minutes for plus they play soft, and an excess on young right side D which they could use to get such a center and maybe even add a bottom 6 winger with grit and can protect guys like Panarin and Mika and all the kids from a holes like Tom Wilson. Your simple mind can't grasp you don't trade a top pair defender that is 24 and makes $3million a year because you think his cap hit is too high. Trading someone like that for that reason is pure STUPIDITY but you don't see it because your pee brain doesn't understand anything above a 6th grade level. Hopefully you are still in grade school which means there may be hope for you, but if you are in junior high school or you are older than that.....time to grab a broom and start sweeping floors. Simple mind BRO.
