Why would Little retire? He’s gonna get paid by insurance (80% insurance/20% the team) for the three years isn’t he? Don’t see him giving up millions to give Winnipeg cap space.
Wpg will just place him on IR

Was just cleaning up the roster was all. I don’t see any big signings so really dont see any necessity to clear his hit from the books (off season cap space). I think he is done but could see TrueNorth giving Little a job whether in development, scouting or coaching.

    We aren't trading weegar
If we are looking to relieve cap space we will trade someone that is actually making a lot of money, not Weegar

Jets decline the cap dump trade. It doesn't make sense for a team that wants to contend to burn up cap space. Probably a better partner would be a team that is in a full rebuild in a nice locale.

Also, Eriksson likely has Winnipeg on his 15 team no trade list

I dont think you know who weegar is. Guy just had 40 something points without his d partner half the year and only makes 3 million dollars. The panthers won’t be trading him for a prospect and a late pick. I doubt there’s very many players he would be traded for. And panthers have plenty of cap space this off season. Abs the next 2 years they have like 25 million coming off the books to resign huberdeau and barkov

Vancouver has cap issues. They need to resign their two top young RFA players and have almost $5M of cap space sitting in the AHL in Eriksson’s contract. They also need space for 23 roster players. It’s going to be a tricky offseason and dumping this albatross of a contract is an option. All that said, there is no way Winnipeg takes that contract even if they weren’t on his no-trade list. They need a D now, not In 2-4 years.
