Think Caps pass. Love Hertl but Caps desperately need their young cheap talent since the cap isn't moving up. McMichael upside is too high.

Not trading away our best prospect and our young backup goalie that lead rookies in wins this season for one year of Hertl. I'm not even making that trade with an extension honestly. We're better off holding onto our players and we can't afford the contract without SJ taking back cap.

Washington could be interested in a trade like this, but are more likely to trade a 1 or 2 in this deal. They’re window to win is about 2 more years
